Yet another what oil to use thread, this has been beat to death. Do a search, most has been covered last season. No new oils to speak of, no new engines, and now new oil requirements for the 2010 sleds, but I could be wrong LOL.

Yamaha 4-stroke snowmobile do not use a clutch plate system, but instead they utilize a mechanical one way locking pin design instead of a clutch plate type system.

I can not really see why oil with slippery additives would hurt this design, especially not in comparison to a clutch plate design.
Still, the workshop manual tells you to avoid this kind of oil.
Because of a reason or because they just copied the text straight out of the streetbike manual...?

It's from the street bike, because of the way the starter is in the R1 bikes of the times.
