I was trying to put on a 2" ROX riser this weekend and set off the TORS. What do I have to do to turn it off and why did it turn on- thought there was enough cable ?

Yes your cable needs to be adjusted down near the motor. You need to back off the nut and screw the cable in more. This should fix the problem also you can move your throttle unit on the bars inwards more.

I had to disable my TORS because of the Super Charger. It wasn't hard, but for the life of me I can't remeber what I did. Once I disabled the TORS with the rerouting of the cable and a riser I felt better getting a new cable made at the local Harley shop. I reccomend a tether if u do this.

Having never torn into one of these- is it easy to follow the cable to thenut? How much has to come off? I'll be putting Rockmeister's hand warmer kit on soon and I'll try it then.

Just take the hood off then you will see the top of the motor and where the cable goes in to the bodies. There is a small nut you need to loosen off first.
Easy stuff just make sure you have the sled off the ground just in case.

If you want to disconnect your TORS you have to disconnect the single wire white connector and single wire black connector from themsleves then connect opposite.

In simple words,
white/black, white black, instead of white/white, black black.

You can find these wires in the bundle of wires below the dash panel right in front of the handlebars.
