I just purchased an 08 FX Nytro RTX and the only thing it has done to it is the Hauck "power comander" and kn filter kit. The taillight does work but does not turn bright when the brake lever is pulled, any ideas or has anyone else experienced this?

Check to see if it is loose. It is located on the underside of the brake lever. I think it is a black piece. See if it turns on if you move it.

Test it by pulling on the brake lever and check the tailight if it brightens. If it does, it works, if not, it doesn't.
Sorry, I had to. Welcome to TY.

If i remember correctly you can unplug the connector to the taillight on the right side of the fuel tank. I believe its a green plug with 3 pins. Use a multimeter to check it.

Also ensure when you squeeze the lever you hear an audible click. Sometimes just some contact cleaner sprayed into the switch will help.

Chances are the switch rotated out of position. Just rotate it one direction or the other untill the light starts working.

thanks for the replies guys. much appreciated!
There is a little nubbin on the switch and it fits into the brake lever on the bottom side, if it is not seated in the divit on the lever it wont work right.
