To the guys that have this exhaust how n the hell did you make your stock heat shield work no welded brackets on it and I can’t get the shield down far enough to thread the short bolts into these holes if I have to I’ll get longer ones

Go to a post right above yours. “Header Vs. Quiet Performance muffler w tunes”
Last page has some info on what some have done to the TD SQ2.5”
Might give you some ideas!

Hey jd. I have that muffler and was able to use oem screws. Only one of 3 torx style on top though. Not the best fit IMO.

I ended up using a Dremel tool had to do a little cutting to make it fit right

Why are people worried about heat shield? Is it just to hide the fact they have aftermarket muffler?

The 2 way heat tape works well I’ve found on panels to help prevent melting. I do see wanting to use the factory heat shield tho.

First, take purse and hit circled areas in direction of arrow. Next, use hands to bend the squared area down toward the pipe. Lol I'm just joking. I have two sleds with the TD 3" Super Quiet. That heat shield is very thin, malleable metal. Just massage to fit.

Lol I ended up cutting some material off with a dremel tool fits better but ain’t perfect guess it’s better than melting my hood

Definitely better to run the heat shield. Nice work.
