Those who have or run TD Super quiet muffler has anyone taken the stock muffler heat shields off and installed them on the super quiet? I've heard it can be done without the insulation but did you weld the stock mounts onto the TD muffler? Just wanna know best way to approach this for the stealth approach. In Maine they will give ypu a ticket if its not stock no matter the noise. Thanks for any help

I’m running a TD SQ exhaust with the stock heat shield. I just wrapped it tight around the exhaust a pop riveted it using the holes on the outer part and just drilled the inner half so the rivets are in the right locations. I also shoved some of the insulation in a few spots to keep it from rattling. It’s been working good and no rattles. There is no bracket for the two middle bolts on the heat shield that goes over the top of the exhaust and turbo. To help make it look stock I put the bolts in with nuts on the back. Same as the middle pop rivet. It’s not holding anything it’s just there for looks. It all looks stock unless they measure the outlet.
