What can I use to clean the O2 sensor?
Ran 180 miles the other day (23°F) and found a lot of carbon on my side panel. Same thing with the O2 sensor.
Will she lean out a little bit in colder weather? Or is there another way to address this?

Maybe turn down your fuel pressure a tad? I thought you posted it was running 11.0 AFR number? What can I use to clean the O2 sensor?

Can't clean the working part of an oxygen sensor. What you're looking at in pic is only the outside protective steel covering. The intricate sensing part is inside that shell. If you try to clean it, most likely it will wreck it. Working element runs pretty hot so it likely isn't covered with as much carbon. What can I use to clean the O2 sensor?

If that's an LSU 4.9 Bosch sensor you can find them on eBay for about $28 (genuine Bosch).
If your AFR is too low, you're running rich so you could turn fuel pressure down some, like a pound at a time. WFO should be not more than 12.0 with pump gas (with trusted 91+ octane). Part-throttle, cruise can run all the way up to 14+ with no problem because engine is under light load.
Most tunes we buy from a vendor, WFO AFR is more likely in mid to high 11's to be safe. Can't trust pump gas these days.

As of now....
Cold start 11.8 +/-
Cruising 13.8 +/-
W/O 12.0
Jon, you think I still have room to lean her out?

I suppose I'll sit tight and verify. Looks like I might not have enough room to lean it out

Only concern for AFR is what its doing WFO IMO. 12 is good. If it run good AFR at WFO the rest will follow suit with the tuneAs of now....
Cold start 11.8 +/-
Cruising 13.8 +/-
W/O 12.0

General ?...would closed loop clean that up if it's truly a problem?

The closed-loop map could certainly be different from this because they might deem leaner AFR at cruising is ok. That's possible. But 12.0 WO is good and with today's pump gas I wouldn't chance leaning it down. Just because it worked fine with your current pump gas doesn't mean you couldn't get some real s$#t out on trail.General ?...would closed loop clean that up if it's truly a problem?
I would wait to see if that apparent "build-up" on the outside of the O2 sensor leads to sensor failure. Meanwhile, send it!

T.F. the visual hues of carbon on the side panel and on the O2 sensor led me to be concerned that the plugs would be next.
Which is something I haven't been concerned about since I gave up carburetors.

I have some carbon there too. What do plugs look like?
You know you are burning a hydrocarbon, right? LOL
There will be some residue.

The lower side panel on my 2019 XTX has white decals and they get badly discolored on exhaust side even with closed loop...I am experimenting with making dark decals to cover the white as we speak...the black does not look as good but it wont yellow as bad.

Many AFR gages use Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor. P/n 15025 I believe. Can buy them on eBay (genuine Bosch) for about $25.Found that sensor on Amazon. And I'll give the plugs a look.

My sled has residue but not so easy to tell since it's black.
