I ran TD max spool 17 with 3” viney fab, 3 bar, cai and blow off all season with great results.
Dalton bulk/green Dtya 1 at 79.1 and purple EPI.
Since I have the TD bundle I decided to give the max spool 16 sm a try.
What a awesome tune, it’s nice and quiet ( not that the 3” is super loud) and pulls hard.
Only thing I changed was the the weight, same weights just at 76 and they where spot on @ 8900-9000 and 17.1 pounds boost.
While it doesn’t run quite as good as the tune I ran all year I do not think I will be switching back for a normal trail riding, but will keep 3” just for race days with my buddies.

How does Powertrail compare to Max Spool 16. I am running Powertrail with SQ exhaust and CAI. I normally see over 16 psi boost - usually 16.5 psi. It works great for me - lots of pull. I am just wondering in case I want to go back to stock exhaust. I guess I would have to go to a 3 bar map sensor as well.

I didn’t do a back to back comparison but I think Max spool 16 is faster and pulls harder. I am also pulling 1.5 more grams weight so it tells me it is stronger.
The sled is much more enjoyable to ride with the stock muffler being so quiet I felt like the SQ had a lot of drone in fact I thought the 3 inch was quieter than SQ, the 3” was in between Stock and SQ.

Viney Fab is quieter than the SQ?? Does viney fab pull more rpm than SQ or does it make more power?

This is the tune I would like to run in the future. My Yamaha dealer is also a TD dealer. He flashed his first MS16 sled last month and after a test ride he claimed it was his favorite tune so far.

This season I ran 2300km on MS17 with SQ and then after 3000kim on MS16 with SM. REALLY happy with the MS16 and especially happy with how quiet the SM is compared to the SQ muffler. Not that it was "LOUD" but it got a bit much after a full day or multiple days on the trails. I have 21/41 gearing and next season am going to try 24/50 to get more low end.
I have the Multi Map for SM so I tried Eco/Power/MaxSpool back to back and while the PowerTrail is good, what you get from the MS16 is the boost coming on really quickly. Not quick enough to blow the track out or anything but really snappy corner to corner.

I ran MS16 all season, 1800miles and and sled ran flawless. this tune is great for trail riding, very smooth when easy on the throttle and when you get aggressive so does the engine. very hard pull, very quick acceleration when you want it. ran the same belt all season and still looks new. over the years i got cought up on the latest and greatest hype and wasted a lot of money, this tune is one of the rare times i got a lot of bang for the buck. would highly recommend it to anyone that puts miles on and wants quiet high performance.

For the guys running maxspool 16 , is it worth the money to use cold air intake? Or is the stock air box good enough?

I had to switch to Maxspool 16sm after being stopped for the sq muffler this year. Humbug! Not surprising since the stock muffler doesn't breath, but I found the Max Spool 17 to be spot in terms of hard pull and overall power throughout the power band. I took some weight out of the Daltons which helped and maybe I need to pull more but I may have to come up with a better way to mask sq or equivalent.
