went for a rip tonight in the NJ powder on my 06 apex gt, busting trail in 1 to 2 feet of heavy wet snow, temp light comes on, hood covered in snow, headlights and vents packed with snow, kept clearing it to see, why was it heating up? usually powder cools it off. will rear exchager resolve or is something else going on?

not enough air flow to cool off motor. happened to me when i put in storage bag in front nose of machine. orange light stayed on and would not go off even in 1.5 ft of fresh snow. Had to empty out bag fully packed with gear, mitts, beer etc. Never had a problem since.

Also, your tunnel could be so congested with slush, that snow does not get thrown onto the heat exchanger. Knock it loose.

Your heat exchangers get coated in ice. No snow getting to em & they get heated up.

pack a bunch of snow on your running boards and ride a mile or so, it will cool right off.. If this keeps happening, Id just keep putting snow on the running boards, works pretty well

Grimm is right..this is common in the east..we get wet snow and the stuff just sticks and forms a cover..it happens to my mountain and my wifes too..Grimm said:Also, your tunnel could be so congested with slush, that snow does not get thrown onto the heat exchanger. Knock it loose.
