HI ALL. I HAVE A 2006 RTX AND WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMP IS IN THE HIGH 30'S-LOW 40'S AND THE SNOW IS GRANULAR, I CAN'T GO OVER 35 MPH OR THE TEMP LIGHT WILL COME ON AND NOT GO OFF UNTIL I SHUT HER DOWN AND LET IT COOL FOR 10 MINS. AS THE SNOW GETS SOFTER AND MORE WATER LOGGED IN THE AFTERNOON, I HAVE NO PROBLEMS. IS THERE A COOLING FIX FOR THIS OR IS IT JUST A DESIGN ISSUE? DID IT FROM DAY ONE WHEN IT WAS NEW. ONLY DOES IT AT THE END OF THE SEASON WHEN TEMPS ARE MORE MILD. ANY IDEAS? THANKS..

Change your coolant... someone chime up but in 06 they came with 100% coolant.. no water..
and those cold mornings... need ice scratchers... this happens to both my sleds in low snow/hardpack.

A little trick is to throw snow on your running boards as the coolant flows along them. No snow being thrown up & they will run warm. With my rear exchanger added this has not been an issue for me but in the past I spent a weekend running for 10 miles- stop load snow on running boards & repeat as needed to get me thru the trip.

Hey blackattack!... ya i had to do this this past weekend... we did a northern trip and in the mornings the snow was hard as He LL... we managed over 650 miles in 2 1/2 days... but yep... lots of snow on the running boards...

My '07 Apex GT coolant was near 100%. I dilluted it to 60/40, added Water Wetter, and added a rear heat exchanger. No overheating since. I also added a digital temperature gauge to keep an eye on the temp.
