the cat t660 turbo

I think it was a great looking sled to begin with now with those graphics it is sweet. However, as said above it is a cat so I don't want one. However I did ride a Sabercat EXT this weekend and was VERY impressed. Still think the REV is better but it certainly is a nice cross between conventional and stand up style sleds.

Who in their right mind would pay that price for a sled that only puts out 110hp? I'd take an SXR 600 any day over that for half the price!

#1 minimal turbo lag !!!!!!!!!!

#2 the price is for a turbo 4 stroke, not per hp, if per hp RX1 is also overpriced. If you have not ridden it don't knock it :!: :!: :!:

Dont get defensive, just stating that IMO...why would anyone spend that kind of money on something with that kind of output!? You can get 140hp four stroke and save yourself almost $4000, then if thats not enough, turbocharge it and you are at about the same price as the Cat...only makes sense to me...but what do I know!

I believe, it even weighs more than the RX 1 but most of all it has got CAT’s quality and attention to detail Now that got to be worth something (negative $)

I'm sure that they are both street priced about the same. That's were the similarities stop

I really get a kick out of reading all the little glitches and problems you guys have with your yamaha products (rx1's), just scroll threw all the pages. As soon as another company comes out with a four stroke trubo you people waste no time to switch your focus and start to dump on it. I thought this fourum was for sharing information about the rx1, not a place to dump on all other brands new ideas. lets think about the poor guy who fell for the yamaha hype and bought an over weight, poor hadling , poor riding underpowered rx1. Now this guy has to change the track, replace the clutch parts, replace the skid, and put a turbo on it to stop getting spanked at the local lake. I wonder if this poor guy is going to have a few quality problems hmmmmmmmmmmmm. . The point i'm tring to make is all the brands make sleds that need some sort of refinement after the fact including yamaha. Give it a rest.

Race what you sell and sell what you race.

The posts you don't see on this Yamaha forum are the one's like this:
Is everyone's sdi bachfiring like mine?
I thought we were suppose to get baetter gas milage
Does your 800 HO get 8mpg's too?
Does your 800 HO eat belts?
Have you guys taken your F-7 back for it's 18th recall yet?
Can I get 04 decals for my 97 Polaris being that it's the same sled?

A tweak here and there yes, buy Yamaha doesn't have the issues the other guys do :!:

 Ahhhh......our favorite voice of wisdom has returned. However, this time, I'll agree with him. Every manufacturer has quirks. Every sled has quirks.

That's the extent that I agree with you.

IMO Arctic Cat to be competitive motor wise needs to team up with the GSXR team & Suzuki. If they do that.....well....not being brand sensitive...you never know!

As long as there are men there is going to be brand loyalty and things we have seen both positive and negative about all of the brands of sled. MY personal opinion and take it for what its worth (opinions are like assholes we all have them some of them stink) I would never buy an A/C I have had alot of friends with them. They seem very fast but lack quality. To many friends have blown up there engines for the 2nd and 3rd time stock all kinds of recalls compared to other sleds. I own a 98 MXZ 500 I do like Skidoo it was close between the new REV 800 and the RX-1. I am hoping the quality and dependability of the 4 stroke makes my decision one I will be happy with for the next 4 years atleast. I like the way the Rev took the bumps I liked the looks. I took rides on both sleds but not for more than a couple of hours a piece The Skidoo didnt run as smooth they both felt like about the same power maybe skidoo alittle more (sorry guys) I liked the styling of the RX1 I loved the 4 stroke pull and sound and better warranty. I did not look at polaris but thats all my parents have owned since I was 12 years old. I think they have a better ride than anything else but lack some in the performance area as well as handling. I have had my issues with Yamaha as well I owned 2 Phasers and 2 Exciters and 1 well really sucky old style Vmax nothing but motor problems with that one. The tracks on the older yammis sucked the front ends needed to be redone every year and the chassis seemed to light and flimsy. They all have there problems and good points and we all have fun giving each other #*$&@ out on the lake when someone pulls up on something different than what we drive.

Oh yah PS Fords are junk too LOL

Personally, I want AC to be successful with the T660 so that it will put pressure on Yamaha to give us more. Most people would admit that AC's rear skid is better than Yamaha's (there were several threads on this site of people putting the AC skid on the RX-1s), so that part is better. And at least the sled isn't that God awefull green. But having a price point similar to the RX-1 and giving up 30-35 hp is a stretch for most knowledgeable buyers.
