what is the fastest stock snowmobile out there, i know the machz is real fast, it can be any year, opinion?

The mach zs in the 90's were pretty fast..Like 125 mph sort of thing..The thundercats in the 90s were at about 130 mph, well tuned..My 98 Srx hit 122.8 mph Big tail wind and glare ice..My VMAX4 came in at 120 mph..But The overall WINNER would have to be either a super charged or turboed APEX..

1998 thundercat 1000...172hp,is the first sled that come to my mind.This is a wicked fast stock snowmobile!

ive seen a stock xcr 800 running neck and neck with a stock mach z. ive seen some quick t-cats, but i do not know if they were stock

the fastest to this day is the 98 t cat.check out cmsa racing web site they run 1000 ft the 98 tcats have the record in 1000 ft they run just over 120mph.

The fastest thing out there is a turbocharged or supercharged four stroke! Whether it be a drag race on black top or a frozen lake.

The fastest STOCK sled I have seen in magazine shoot outs was the 97 zrt 800. Remember triples that are dialed in flat out fly. I have raced a few down the river and got smoked. The river by me is not safe until you get a few nights well below 0. For those guys that don't mess with jets, -20 F is what you need to make them go. xcr 800 zrt 800 Mach z 800 have all gone right by when my dream meter was at 129 and I do mean right by. But like one wise man once said, "if they want to race all the way down the river you will just have to pull them all back".

I think it would have to be between the STOCK SRX 700, XCR 800 and thunder cat..
getting anyone to admit they werent stock would be another problem

I had a buddy who swore up and down his 99 t-cat did 128mph on gps. We all just laughed at him. He kept it up so I handed him my gps, and said, prove it. We all ran that same trail, and he got gpsed at 103.2. my 03 RX-1 102.8, and another buddy with a Rev 800 got 103.8 We told him it sure is along way from 128, now shut up! and lets ride!

welteracer there is alot of t cat owners that didn't know of updates like cat never posted.Just moving the reed stop placement on the 98's where 2hp.
Guys he said stock snowmobile not power adders.
