With the 128 x 5 x 1" Hack Im leaning towards 153 with the 51 double/51 single all in the center belt concept.
Should I do 170 for durability sakes?
Are Rotein Hornets really that damn good considering the outrages price
Anyone read about the Rotein "Master Mix" with Skorpion and Hornets mixed in the latest Sno-Tech? Retail, Hornets are $2.20 and Sorpions are over $3 a stud each!! ---without backers.
Should I use the proven Gold diggers wih the dished head that seems to still be unmatched for flex after all of these years? Again still expensive and hard to find a good deal on gold diggers...
Accords (Saber) have been dissapointing over the last few sleds and are making their no bend or break policy tighter and tighter every year.
Bottom Lines were crap a few years ago but at least they kindly refunded my money.
Lots of opinions welcomed here....

Unchained,
I've been a huge fan of woody 's megabites. After trying various studboy, sabre, and woodys the megabite seemed to hold up the best. Then I bought a sled from a guy with roetin hornets installed. I put 3K miles on these and they were perfect. IMO the roetin hornets are top notch studs with great penatration and outstanding durability.
I just put a 136" kit on my FX and I went with 162 Hornets right down the center. Talk to Bruce at CB performance for a great deal on the hornets.
Good Luck!

i have installed over 600 hornets in my own sleds and i have yet to see one bend and i have had only 3 pull out,i used the spring steel backers for about 400 of them and woodys round alum for the last 200 all with excellent results, easy 15,000 miles, used regular short nuts on all 600,might try the tall nuts next time.

Wish I'd been able to see this post before I studded my sled two weeks ago. I paid for gold diggers and got some cheap knock off. I'll probably replace them with Hornets as they break, hornets just seem to have the rep.

Any suggestions on the best place and price to get Roetins? The one lonely auction for Hornets on eBay right now wont get back with me????

If you got hosed on you purchase, you should have sent them back. Having the 'gotta get it done!' syndrome may be more expensive than taking some extra time and getting what you want!!!

What length are you guys going with? I have 192 power points double backers with tall nuts and the studs are 1.375 in length will they hit the exhaust or exchanger. Ive had them sitting in a box for weeks just wanted to waiting for a better base to install

Just little 1.075 or hopefully 1.175's depending on cooler clearance with these 10 tooth drivers. Remember Im running a 1" 128 Hacksaw now....

I would even prefere to run that new SB 1.280 length if I had clearance. I found a decent deal on some Roetin Hornet 1.180's that I'll prob go with at this point depending on if I can leave the stock aluminum protectors in or not with the 10 toothsunchained said:unpride said:What length are you guys going with?
