The million dollar question

My rec: Apex XTX.

If you want the Cat for the chassis then get the 800 twin, not the 1100 or turbo. The 800 is still their best motor from everything Ive researched.
 
Apex XTX hands down.I have 5500 miles on mine.Dupont sliders 2 inch riser and Powder Pro skis and the sled is awesome.Mine will pull 3 to 4 lengths on the turbo cat down low and upper mid range.I have run 117 on gps on ice with the stock track and 230 roetin studs.

The xtx is proven, refined, and bulletproof the cat is not. Depends how much you like to be the guniea pig. I personally would jump on a new cat in a heartbeat if the deal was better but I would know what I am getting into.
 
Remember the 144 XTX is a totally different skid than the 128 Mono, and not just in lenth. I went from a Nytro XTX back to a 128 Apex because I wanted the Mono skid back. I believe the Mono is a far more "plush" suspension for groomed trail riding.

xtx with a start suspension kit for better geometry. Ull thank us later.......
 
I would keep riding the 06 until Yamaha comes out with a new Apex or replaces the Apex. I'm ready to get a new one also and if buying now would get another Apex. BUT - I can't bare the thought of getting a new Apex now and then having a new chasis come out the next season. So I'm continuing to wait. My 06 still rocks anyway.
 
Yep, both back ends need some work. If you are a little aggressive the mono trend not to cut it without upgrades, and to trail ride the xtx i would say a minimum of a shock revalve is probably a good idea.
 
love my xtx 15-20% better in every way then my 07 gt
 
Apex xtx vs Cat turbo

Just got an Apex XTX 2012. If you were upset at your Nytro leaving you on the lake dont go with cat till they work the bugs out and even then YAMAHA APEX turn key and go!!! FAST... RELIABLE.. :winter:

Put a Turbo on your new Apex XTX and watch the cat disappear in the kitty litter dust!!!
 
My nytro was a pretty reliable sled. However I was the guinea pig on that one (2008) I'm not real interested in traveling down that road again. So that is another plus for the apex.
 
Alright you guys twisted my arm. COUNT ME IN!!! I called the dealer today told him to set aside a 2012 apex xtx black.
