Apex. I'm a little concerned about slide wear. It was an issue with the LTX

probably going to need the excel wheel kit other than that just snow!
the sled is awesome you will love it!

love mine no prob with slides yet 500 miles so far. also put dual carbides on still had darting issues just not as bad as other years.

just ride till the slides wear out and put on the new dupont slides.... congrats on the purchase

I had bad slide wear after the first 145 miles. I replaced w/ Excel wheels, and small wheel kit up front and new OEM slides. Up to 606miles on the clock and the slides are holding up nice in minimal conditions.

i had no issues with my slides until 900 miles then they melted off in less than 400 miles. put the excel wheels on and no wear after 450 miles

1900 kms on my 2012 xtx, very little slider wear, no worse than my 2011 128 apex.Long track hooks up well, feels faster than my short track.

Thanks for the replies. I am having the Yamaha marginal snow wheels put on between the stock idlers. thats where my LTX ate through. I have heard a lot of good things about the DuPont slides for these sleds.

Just picked a set of dupont sliders, will be trying this week-end

1996 VMAX, 20,000 trouble free miles to a 2004 Warrior, 5000 trouble free miles, to a 2007 Attak. Only 1000 miles, love the sled but after riding my brothers 1200 Renegade, I may be jumping ship! Nicest riding and handling sled I've ever thrown my leg over, and I'm a big time Yamaha fan! If Yammie doesn't step up to the plate, I've gotta jump. Yammie's sit like my mother's 99 Buick LeSabre. Nytro doesn't fit me and to spend $14K on a Apex XTX, c'mon, that's insane. Wake up Yammie. I know this is a Yamaha site, but I also know other owner's feel the same way.

If you spend 14k on it or any other sled you are insane. The price point will eventually be there, but I have talked to no one that has spent that much. $11,500 to 12,200 is MAX these sleds should go for, new with no miles. With the lack of snow this year, you may be able to do even better. My dealer was good to me for sure

This sled is unreal bottom line! Put 171 studs in it and snowtrackers and it will corner like its on rails and hookup sweet. This sled is in a league of its own in my opinion and i have rode them all. This is just my opinion but for me i'm extremely happy.

maiden run today went really well. kept it at 6-7ooo rpms for first 100 miles then very gentle for another 50, but upped the riding just a bit, nothing ridiculous.. Got back to the trailer and had a reading on the instrument panel that said F_002? I don't know what htat means? Is that bad? I havent read the manual yet, I was just breaking it in nice and slow, or at least trying. I also saw it say OP LO?? Apparently that means low oil? This is a BRAND NEW sled. Are these already trouble codes?? Why is it using oil when its brand new?? Am I jsut an idiot? LOL. Help
