Hi everyone I just wanted to post to say hi and introduce myself. I am new to the forum, Yamaha sleds, and to four stroke sleds! I'm also a Canadian EH! and I operate heavy equipment for a living. This is a whole new world to me this year and unfortunately where I live all of our snow has melted with in the last week... I joined the forum in hopes in getting some good advice and knowledge on these sleds because I'm clueless to these. I recently bought a 2008 Phazer RTX from the original owner with only 3500kms. All of my previous sled's were BRPs so I am little excited to try this sled out.
Here is a picture of the new weapon hoping to do a track swap next year that's the only thing I can see so far I want to change any other mods which help these sleds I should do? I did hear skies were a must.

Hello from Western Newfoundland (Corner Brook). Playing the same game here...lost a lot of snow within the last week after a record-breaking start. No worries, we'll get it all back in no time.
Our household just adopted a Phazer as well...the missus loves it and is still in the process of breaking it in. I've ridden on it briefly and the little critter seems to be a blast...gotta love that seat!
Let me know if you head this way for a ride at any point...good luck with the sled. I'm sure it'll leave you "phased and confused".

Welcome! At least with an '08, you got some updated parts that the first year '07 didn't. Still lots to do to improve on a good sled. Did the previous owner mention anything about mods? Or mention this forum? If so, he might have already done some.

The owner was a older gentlemen who bought this for his ex- wife and had no reason to keep it anymore he mentioned the only things that where done where the fox shocks and the heated visor cord which where done by the dealer. He said he only tried this sled from time to time so he never had anything done with it just kept up on the maintenance. He also never mentioned anything about this forum I found this forum with a bit of research on the old Google.

Thanks so far i'm just learning the basics and started today with a few minor changes to my Phazer removed the wind shield and lowered my display by turning the bracket upside down. I was going to order some new hand guards probably a set of powermadds anyone know if I can use the stock brackets?

Are you just wanting to swap hand guards out for Powermadd's for looks? Keep in mind that the Powermadd hand guards are smaller than the stock ones on your Phazer. Yes, you can add the flare to the top of the Powermadd hand guard but who really has trouble keeping the tops of your hands warm? For me its my finger tips that get cold which are protected by the bottom of the hand guard.

Yes I was going to get Powermadds just for the look. I usually don't use hand guards and never found my hands getting cold between a good pair of gloves and hand warmers anyways. I was just looking to upgrade from the big ugly clunky stock ones that come with it. I was wondering if they use the same bracket tho or would I have to purchase the whole new kit.
