All of the Apex 121" sled's will have the same seat's. They will be a bit firmer than the preproduction's were and there could have been variances in the prepro seat's so we should not use them for comparison. The mountain sled's and the Nytro will have even firmer and lighter seat's than the Apex 121" model's. I was finaly able to contact the person i know at Yamaha for this info, He was not at Geneva either, I think he may have been sluffin. LOL!! Serously i know he has been quite busy but he may read this so i thought i would give him some sh$$$. kviper

I saw the seat color stuf to,It look's sweet but is probably out of reach for 06 any way. Yamaha has done a lot for one year so the seat color thing may be pushing it. I guess it don't hurt to ask. MrSled he is hard to get in contact with, I supose quite busy but he does check up on what is going on in here now and then. I did not think to ask about the trunk, We talked about a lot of thing's but the trunk was not one of them. I do know that they had a lot of comment on the trunk and is on there list. Makes me laugh to think the trunk lid and maybe a color combo is our biggest concern. kviper

I have heard that the big wigs want the rear flap changed. They can't believe all of the negative responses it keeps getting at the shows.
Hope your right about the seat firmness. I rode the prototype ER in NY and it was like sitting on a marshmellow. You sink in the seat and end up loosing the height. I have a Boss flattop on my Viper, great seat foam, firm but very comfortable for a 250+ mile day. They should get a Boss seat and copy the foam.

My biggest concern after reading the RX1 forum is making the rails stronger.
I'd rather have stronger rails that won't break and keep the cheap trunk lid.

I thought the apex seats were in varing degrees of firmness the attack was firmer than apex at the traverse city show.I think yamaha made the right choice. Now if they fix my broken pivot arm and broken slide rail with something stronger ill be happy to have a GT on order.

I might be wrong, but I don't think the slide rails will be a problem. They have already been reinforced for 06.
What's still not clear is the pivot arm (w-arm) and idler wheels/bearings...
I'm hoping everything will be fixed in 06 and after a year to prove it; I'll be picking up a couple of 07's (although that depends a little on how my 05 turns out...).

I see you ride alot of miles also. I'll be one of the first to know if the suspension is going to hold up to miles better than the '05's. If Yamaha in '06 can get the suspension and all thier bearings with better durability, it will be one very dependable sled. There won't be anything better.

I thought the soft seat was nice!
Hopefully they do not make it too much stiffer!
