The sky is falling on our Vectors

The whole thread is a joke because it's all heresay at this point. I don't mind having a discussion about the possibilities of the mew sled, but the word "fact" was used way too much by folks taking out their butts. If this same post was a few months later after some had had the chance to actually ride one to see, maybe I'd put more faith in it. Anyway, made for good entertainment yesterday. :D

Well, thats par for the course on HCS. It wasnt all that long ago that it was called, "Firecatinfo.com" you know.
I like HCS, its a good site and Rob has been doing a better job of crowd control lately. He just doesnt have enough moderators to keep things under control and thats why you have threads like you mentioned. Rob has a policy of, "no moderation" for the most part.
Thats why I like TY and pay to support this site. The admins and mods keep it real. :rocks:

Well said Octane! ;)!

The Z1 looks interesting except the weight,575 dry! and only a 9 gallon fuel tank. That is almost the same weight as a 2003 RX-1.

That will be just short of 700lbs. ready to ride. It's good it has that light weight diamond drive system.

Arctic Cat Z-1TON

i agree plus we havent seen price. Yes the z1 is gonna have a ton of torgue but twin fourstrokes dont have #*$&@ for top end. It is rated at 3 hp more than the vector but that 3hp has to carry 30 more pounds.

I dont know about you guys but i love my engine braking it saves a lot of wear on the brakes i couldnt believe cat did away with it. I also think that the post on hcs was bullshit. There is no way that a 1100 twin is gonna be smoother than a 973 thriple. Look at the two strokes was there ever a twin made that was smoother than a triple?

They're still on that glass of water on the seat thing. I should just let it drop and quit paying attention. The guy that hates me appartently works at a dealer so he knows. (even though he hasn't gotten one in yet) Funny thing is that I'm laughing when I type replies to that thread, but it looks like I'm coming off as argumentative. I think their panties are too tight.

I think the bull**** alarm would be going off in my head even if I rode another brand.

Maybe there are 50 lbs. of extra balance shafts. :D Ilove the engine braking also.

LOL...Thats funny. I'll have to use that one sometime.
Twomorestrokes, dont let 'em get to you. Thats what they want. I had a guy in the Phazer section tell me that a 150-mile a day ride on the Phazer would hurt his butt and then when I told him the Phazer was never designed to be a long-distance cruiser he got all upset with me.
Next winter when the Z1 gets royally spanked by the Vector, you can just smile and say, "told ya so".
The Z1 is a big step up from the T660 Turbo, but its not in the same leauge as the Yamaha 4-strokes. Id venture to say that even the FST would spank the Z1 (FST is 5 pounds heavier but puts out about 12 more hp).
Just keep your cool, TMS. Many people who will tell you that a Yamaha is junk have never even ridden one.

Yeah, you're right. I was actually replying on that thread in a good natured manner but I think that pi$$ed them off as I was then a clown. I have never added a negative post to any of the other threads concerning that machine, as I actually like it. That particular post however was comparing that sled to a Vector and only the Cat guys were supplying information on both sleds. They were misinformed on a couple of issues so I thought I'd chime in. Didn't know it was a closed discussion, limited to Cat owners only. I wasn't saying either of them were better as I don't have any more experience with the new cat than the "experts" over there. You're right, time will tell and I'm looking forward to it, one way or the other.

I should have stooped to their level right off the bat and told them that they were all full of **** and signed off. :tg:

I was on HCS today and someone made the comment that, "you can be sure of one thing, the Z1 will outride, outhandle and outperform the Vector". I kinda took exception that and felt compelled to respond. Im sure they flamed the heck out of me, but I dont care.

Glad I didn't see that post. What a bunch of morons. I'll probably get kicked off anyway if I don't stop reading the bunk. I should delete the shortcut to relieve the temptation.

well who ever buys them, they better come with a 5 gallon jugs of loc-tight, engine mount bushings, belts, and a extra frame, and much much more

the z1 would beat the fst because once the fst gets to 60 it kicks out of gear and into a nuetraul sp? like position and you have to stop to re-engauge it

Yeah the cat guys will talk crap without over riding one yet. I can't wait to get a z1 lined up for 660' We see the F7's coming back out of the trailer after a couple of runs. Thats one big kitty for 123 HP!

I invited one of the blow hards from that site out to my house to give 'em a friendly run out in the hay field next to my house. He implied that he works at a dealer just 45 minutes from my house and would have some in soon. He was more interested in showing up with a radar gun instead of a Z1 to show me how far off Yamaha speedos are.
