I have an issue with my rx1 turbo getting hot running high boost. hot enough to fill the overflow bottle with antifreeze and sometime all over my leg.
Back in the two stroke days I always just pulled the thermostat. Anyone pulling thermostats on these boosted 4 strokes or do they get too cold without it?
Also. does the system still force the antifreeze through the heat exchangers without the thermostat?

That just doesn't sound right. Have you changed your antifreeze and/or checked for airlock. I was out running 10-15 #'s boost on my 04 RX-1 and didn't get over 150 degrees on my temp gauge. I have heard the antifreeze can be pretty far off when you get them from the dealer. I would check that 1st before taking the thermostat out.

If your head gasket is leaking it can/will push antifreeze into & out of the overflow..

Any black stuff floating around in the anti-freeze? Small fragments that is.

no black stuff and the sled never overheated at 12lbs. turned the boost up last winter to 15 and it would do it after 3rd run or so, sometimes.
Doesn't do it at low boost though. I installed an overflow bottle this summer. Probably try it out this week. I've got a new headgasket to try if it does it again.
So removing the thermostat is a bad idea?

you might check too see that it functions properly, but I wouldn't remove it. It will take too long to warm up and with boost that is a bad thing. Perhaps you are running too lean (high EGT's creating excessive heat).
