THIS!!! Is what I knew an XTX could be like

Do you drive like that all the time?? How many belts do you go through?
Gotta love boost

Last season I was blowing 8jp's about every 150 miles at 7#'s. I had Ulmer go through the sled and did a bunch of work to take it to 9 & 12#'s and all the clutch machining and clutching kit set up (his kit). I have over 600 miles on that 8jp now and not blowing dust and no signs of wear. I have 1 8jp left and 2 8dn's for when that goes but I think I can get the rest of the season out of this belt. That ride is at 9#'s and I do most of my riding at that. If I lake race it then 12 and that may stress it more.

I also have to say if I get one more PM or negative post on this video I will pull it.

It was 8 am and noone was out on the trail. The guys sitting at the end of the run were with me! they rode ahead and checked the trail and called me on the cell to let me know it was clear. They sat at the intersection just in case and blocked it. Even so the only 2 corners I did not have clear vision completely through I slowed to 20 mph. It was all hardwood forrest and even though the camera does not show it I had clear vision for more than 300 yds at all times. It was only a 3 mile burn and took less than 3 minutes and 49 seconds. I was not even pushing this sled cuase the trail was rough and the snow was not tight I have made that run before in under 3 minutes on an RX-1 and was still not close to being on the edge.

I actually thought you were taking it a bit easy. Nice vid.

Thank you I was I cannot believe I am getting this much crap!!!

"Super smart spot to drive like an idiot...101 on a public trail...why not save that kinda crap for a lake"

F- I should have shot the video killing baby seals while I was riding!!!!

One recommendation....when you come to a stop after riding it hard let the sled idle for a little bit before you shut it down because the turbo and the exhaust are probably cherry red.

The real problem with that heat is the the lubrication and cooling oil coke up (actually cook the oil) which causes the oil passages to close down and eventually block completely. On diesel turbos, in a closed environment, we would generally train drivers to idle the engines for 2-3 minutes prior to shutdown. 100% of turbo failures could be directly attributed to not following this procedure. It only takes a few hot shutdowns to take out a turbo in Iraq.

A closed environment is a engine in a steel box with outside intake air and cooling from hoses fed through bulkheads. Probably a worse case environment.

I don't ride as fast as I used to but the way you were riding isn't irresponsible especially for a couple of minutes on what is basically a clear trail that you know well. Trouble is that a lot of guys who think they ride 'responsible' can't get their heads around how anyone can drive faster than they do. Like George Carlin said 'everybody who drives faster than you is an idiot and everyone slower is a moron'. Lol
