I agree, I think its time to buy a new arm if it looks like that. Thats what the arm looked like out of my 05 RX-1. something like that.
Id say it prolly happened because once one spot cracked it allowed the arm to flex and caused multiple other cracks and breaks.
Sad that these things are so inferior and yamaha won't admit it and give us a recall...

Dude...
You need to sent that picture to Yamaha! There are 20-30 year old sleds out there with triple those miles and the skid didnt do that. And those skids rode a lot harsher than these new skids meaning the took way more abuse!
Thats plain BS!

I would not ride that if it got welded, the trip to the ER will cost more than $200.....
I love trying to fix things cheaply, but I would not try and fix this part! You are too optimistic!

X2 that. There is no way that thing would ever go back in my sled. Yamaha defiantly has to see that.
Nice avatar Skip, can't beat those Canadian girls!

Well just to clear things up this is NOT on my sled and I would most definitly replace it. This is one of the guys I ride with every once in a while. He did weld it and we rode 100 miles last night. He has his uncle who is a professional welded do it so that helps but still I couldn't believe how f-ed up that was when we pulled the skid out from underneath the sled.
