We are still holding onto our snow here on coastal western Alaska. Better than last year so far. This El Niño thing is far reaching. I remember weeks ago watching Anchorage on the news and being happy for them too, as they had a good amount of snow. Watched the news the other night and saw lots of green grass in Alaska's largest city. We did get a warm spell like we were getting last year, but it didn't melt our snow.
....now it's a balmy 3 deg f, and supposed to stay that way for awhile.

Where we go up north they have just enough to pack the trails a touch but the swamps aren't fully frozen nor the lakes. They did get some snow but we need a deep freeze!

YEP..............SUCKS
BUTT.......on a side note, we do tend to see MORE SNOW FALL with milder temps than colder temps, and the last 2 years has been Brutal Up Here for COLD TEMPS
Sooner or Later it's going to snow....SOONER Would Be BETTER

I here ya also. I'm In central Minnesota and its all I hear everyday at work is how nice and warm it has been. It just fires me up when I here it. If you don't like the winter why are you still here? I just told my girlfriend the other day that if every person who complained about the cold and left Minnesota there would be maybe 20000 people left. And those are the people who love to snowmobile and ice fish etc. If this keeps up I might have to break the boat back out of storage so I can actually do something beside sit around and wait till it gets below freezing.
What pisses me off is all the weather people in central Wisconsin talking about how "beautiful" it will be this weekend. Beautiful? It's not normal for these high of temps. They sit around the news table laughing about how warm it is. And this happens constantly! Guess they don't realize some people actually enjoy winter and want to make the most of the winter months. Guess I have another reason to stop watching the news. And that's my gripe on a Tuesday night! Lol

Yes this kills me also. I moved here basically for the winters and have listen to all the lifers complain, my girlfriend would not go to the cabin in October cause they were calling for 40 at night ugh! I was hoping for an early winter so I went, then she was mad at me for going overnight!

Not happening this month in Michigan or Northern Ontario. Looks warm right through first of the year. Hopefully the winter will backload and dump through March. Even the leanest of snow years, I've always managed a few thousand miles. Save your vacation days and hitch the trailer and go after a snowstorm. These are the types of years when it snows one week and is gone the next like a few weeks ago.

I haven't even bothered putting my sled back together. I'll wait until it warms up a bit next week. El Nino winters suck. When snow does come to the UP, everyone from MI, MN, and WI will be there.

This is true... And probably from IL. I'm one of them, but I have the gf's family up there so we are up there all year round visiting here and there. Not in the UP however, just faaaaaar north WI.

The guy down the road had his Harley Davidson out today!
That's just wrong, and to top if off I think he was rubbing it in because he drove by about 25 times. Just wait until it snows and payback time
