Well was out tonight and threw a stud right through the front heat exchanger..........any ideas? Please help!

How bad is the hole do you have a pic. You maybe able too weld it up. Had to do that after a race put two studs in and just weld it and race it.

not a huge hole but big enough to piss coolant out at a steady stream

It sounds like you could just weld it up. I think a new one cost almost 200bucks.
Get a good welder and he should beable to weld it in the sled. I do a few every year for local riders. Don't run studs myself though.

Clean it up real good. Let the metal get to room temp.
Use some J B weld on it...works very well.

... if you don't mind it falling off at a random moment.
The solution: weld or replace. And get rid of all the track spikes so it doesn't happen again!!!

yeah i think i am going to try and have it welded in the sled, looks like a big job to take it out

That's why I no longer use studs! No more spending hundreds on studding, expensive repairs, stud maintenance and unnecessary down time and much longer track life! I'll live with the loss in traction and stopping power.

I'm a welder and if you want to do a "Proper Repair" on an aluminum component it should be extremely clean and completely dry and you will get good results!
