Time for a new track

My vote is for the C.E. 15 inche..its great on trails too...but the cat and C.E. track really really such on the trails..the dont have those little fingers on the end of the paddles..so when you go to turn the cornner on a really hard base..you better slow down..cause they are way worse than the maveric on trails..but everywhere else...100 times better..got 6000 on my maveric..and its still in good condition.its in the garage..could even sell it...lol...

I forgot to mention that I changed my gearing from a 20 top gear to a 19 top gear, if that makes any difference. Is the narrower track going to mess with clutching as far as hitting the rev limiter? And what does the stock track weigh compared to the CE or PC?

I went with the 16 C.E. got a decent price on it. I have the old one removed and started to get the new one in, but I cant seem to get the driveshaft to sit straight, so I cant get the chaincase housing back on. I have the speedo sensor back on already, would that cause it to sit crooked? Where else should I look?

I went with the 16 wide extreme and love it, at the same time I also geared the sled down and intalled the Outlaw Motorsports clutch kit with the Shockwave helix, excellent set up for me anyway.....

Ok got the track in, figured out my problem, getting the chaincase back together, but forgot how the reverse forks go on, when putting the case back together should they sit in the groove on the bottom gear or should they be clear of that (resting on the chaincase?)

Which ever you pick your going to notice a BIG difference in traction!

I went with 16x162x2.5 CE. Great track. I also had no problem laying the Apex over with 16" wide so stuck with 16. I've heard a 15" wide makes it even easier to lay over but I was worried about the weight of the apex and wanted to keep all the floatation I had.

The 2.5" paddle is TIGHT at the front intercooler...it's a bit of a task getting it in there but it fits. It looks like there is a small fin on the intercooler that I could grind of to make a bit more clearance. I think you should really have a drop and roll or extended chain case to run a 2.5" paddle - I think it would spin much easier, especially in heavy snow. But I've got 1500kms on mine so far and no problems. Who knows maybe I would have been dissapointed in a 2.25" paddle.

Great upgrade!

Yea I had no problems with the 16" as far as laying it over, found it pretty easy, so I didnt want to go to a 15 just in case I found it to tippy. Yes it is a tight fit getting it in there, I have geared mine down to a 19 tooth top gear, so I am not really worried about being able to spin it, the track itself feels lighter than the stock one (I never weighed it though) but it will have more bite than the stock 2.25. I cant wait to try it out. I dont know how much more competitive it will make the sled though.

Oh, it'll spin it! I just thought a d&r might get you more track speed. They are a lot of work though!

It's not going to hang with 800 XPs...but a little boost will get you spanking them!

I dont want o get into to much technical stuff with a D&R, I would have to do some major work to hang with an XP. Turbo would be nice but$$$$$, here they want about $7800 for the 290 kit!! Might as well buy a new sled!!

Ya the pricing o nthe turbo kits is a little stupid. You can find used super charger kits for a lot less and way simplier install. I picked mine up for $3400 + gauges and clutching got me to about $4k. I have not hear of a shop up your way that supports the superchargers though.

I agree with ya on the d&R
