hey guys, i have a problem. Today when I was driving and my Yamaha Phazer rtx 09, I'd run up a hill, but the snowmobile was thrown aside and went almost back down but then put it on the side. It died as it lay on the side, and then ran the oil out of it. Each had to start it and run it down on a field so that we could take it home with another snowmobile that pulled it home. It went well the little bit I drove it. Joined up to 200 meters as I was driving it before we removed the strap on it. Does anyone know if there can be a big problem? Since the oil has drained from it? No cap or other plastic has broken on it.

How MUCH oil drained. If it was 1qt or less then the oiling system probibly functioned like normal. Being such a high stung motor though, ANY run time with low/no oil pressure probibly did some damage.

Did you remove the drive belt when you towed it?

Shouldn't have hurt anything then. Invest in a shutoff valve and you will never have this issue again.

I have thought about buying a shutoff valve, have read about that. The air filter is full with oil, the hose above it is it there the oil leak when you tilt the snowmobile?

Yes that is the breather hose for the oil tank.
