It rides really stiff and then bottoms out in high speed dips and I'm over it. Does the Star kit really fix it and work well? My dealer has a a used 136in monoshock suspension off an Apex and he thinks I should extend it to 144 and put it in my XTX. Has anyone done this? I know my wife's Vector with the mono rides great. Looks like both options will be around $500 and I have to do something. Love it other than the brutal ride.

Put rear springs in from a 2009 Nytro XTX, they are softer. You then can properly adjust the rest of the skid for your desired ride instead of adjusting around those stiff-#*$&@ rear torsion springs.

Yes, I tried the Nytro springs along with the Hygear spacers and 4 position spring selecters. It did ride much better but it bottomed out a lot. So, I took the Nytro springs back out. I still have them if anyone wants them. I left the spacers and selecters in. I weigh 240 without gear. I've just dealt with the harsh ride but I spent 10 straight days on it in Quebec and I'm sick of the beating now.

Yup, I read it all. Called Hygear today and they recommend the Star kit with their shock rebuilding/revalveing and they also have a heavier center shock spring. Putting in the mono shock seems to be rather complicated.

That’s it! Definitely need to do the shock re-valving and you need that heavier center spring with it as well. I did over 44k km on my 14 XTX with a star setup. Loved it.Yup, I read it all. I have an 11 xtx, revalved shocks with proggesive valving, put on highgear pro kit dual stage spring on center shock and works very well. Have to keep rear springs set on high to stay out of the firm valveing of shocks, this is firm but 100 times better than stock,, I'm 280+. About $300.
