It getting to be that time of year... the lakes are fast, not many people around, hook up usually pretty good. Anyone gone out yet to see what can be done on the big end? We were rained out this week-end, but hoping the lakes come back in a few more days (right now just massive puddles). We're ~150 on snow, shooting for 160's.
Speeds above are indicated. We'll be using GPS as well when/if we can get back out.
i just poped in a 25 top gear in my turbo. i have seen 143 with a 23 top gear in not so good conditions. I just don't no if i want to run up past the 130 140 acutall speed in fear of the track blowing off.
we have perfect conditions right now. Just don't no if i will have the balls let it run wfo!!!!! hate like hell to take a tumble down the ice. if i do i hope someone gets me on radar!!!!

Me too, I'd be some concerned about the track exploding at a indicated 160 mph :ORC But it would be kinda cool to be clocked at a buck twenty on your butt

Recently held the radar gun for two turbo sleds. One did 142mph
the other went 138mph
Turbos were Benders and sounded a little on the loud side. These sleds fly!!!
You have to be there in person when a sled comes past you at 142mph
Nothing short of un
believable

I hope to try this weekend, This past weekend the ice was too haed with no lube on it. The sliders were heating up and sticking. I too am concerned about the track thing. I can tell you that at 140mph on the speedo the gps read 124. It may be a little slow to react?

140 with a gps reading of 124 sounds about right. My gps readings are consistantly 10% off, which would make your reading 126. Of course, I'm no where near 140 on the speedo.

Is that 10 % off on the 121" track?? If so whaT ABOUT THE wARRIOR SPEEDO. hOW ACURATE IS THE 136?????????dOEWS ANYONE KNOW????
Yeah, that's the big fear with our's as well - what will the track do at speed. Flak jacket is mandatory, that's for sure.
Will post results as soon as we test again.

My new safe-jac showed up friday just in time for some good running.
Then the rain showed up fri nite
Then sat I cut the
out of my hand.
Sunday morning was perfect lake running, miles of perfect ice w/just enough lube
But I can't close my hand around the bars
I guess there is allways next season

Mine was with a 136" track on a shorty. I don't think that makes a difference or does it? I guess I'll have to think about that. (9" drivers)

Lkeracer, I was expecting to hear from you last week, From what I just read sounds like things are fine with you. When you get time give me a ring and we'll bull$hit. Later SF

What about the differences between track lug heights on a hard surface, when judgeing how far off the speedos are.
Fever - I'm still pretty busted up, but the sleds are working well. I can't ride for the forseeable future, but I can build parts to test...
I'll call you this week.
