2015 RTX LE 145 miles latest ECM programming from new.
I've been reading about people checking TPS and only seeing 80% at WOT so I figured I would check mine. Key on engine off press and hold both lower buttons on the dash until the screen changes. Use left down to bring up Diag then right button to select. This will bring up TPS
Engine at full operating temp
TPS relaxed .6v and 0%
TPS pinned 3.9v and wants to bounce between 100% and 127% depending how hard you squeeze. Nothing in between. Voltage does not change, but I can only assume that it is changing ever so slightly in the hundredths position that does not display?
Not sure if I need to adjust the TPS back a bit or if anything at or over 100% uses the same maps?
What is the proper voltage spec range for idle position?

I have not seen ant information that states the tps should be set using the sled gauge.
Everything i have read clearly states to use the inline diagnostic tool (catt2 for cat not sure what yamaha calls theirs)
While i know the method you are currently using has been used on yamahas in the past it is not the prefered way according to what i have read.
Maybe thats why it seems wrong???

Could be
The 80% talk is on FB and I really don't care for that discussion format. One thing that I do wonder is if the low readings may be part of the cold protect mode?
For the moment I'm going to assume that this is just a case of too much information and nothing is wrong with mine so it can remain as is.

I read the 80% somewhere else. Maybe on the cat forum of HCS. I do lnow that if you search hcs someone made thier own tool to test the tps. Not sure exactly how it worked but if you have free time its worth a search.
I agree about the whole too much info. I believe the system is just unfamiliar to most people and people want to help/post what they know from previous tps experiences and maybe just maybe that knowledge does not apply perfectly to this situation?
Just out of curiosity, why are you looking at the tps? Are you having a problem? Or areyou like me and just cant leave anything alone? Lol

Read the service manual. If you adjust the TPS your warranty is void. Do not adjust TPS.

It also makes the EPA mad....
I think most people are over analyzing the tps. lol

DO NOT adjust your idle screw or TPS, if it is out of range take to the dealer. This is not a user adjustment you want to make in my opinion.

But gee guys if it goes to 127% now I wonder what it would do at 150%
Definitely one of those TMI things, but it is strange. Seriously though I'll check it cold and see what it does just for grins.

Are guys opening the throttle slowly or jamming it open. It should be slow for correct readings and to see dead spots. I don't know how accurate the diag display is compared to plugging it in.

My RTX reads 3.8v - 98%, my XTX reads 3.9v - 100%. Both of these reading were with the engine cold.
Before the ECU update the RTX would read 80% so either my dealer adjusted it or the update changed something.

In seeing the same thing 80% before update, checked today after reflash and now shows 99% at wot cold, something changed.

I checked mine it was 80%. But the sled only ran onto the truck. I spent a few hours on it today, so I will check again. 0.6 0% & 3.8 80% cold after flash but limited running.

Hello Mike!
I'm afraid it should hit 99 ~ 100% ....... I would have it looked at by a dealer.
