I just took out the track and skid and did the track extension from 121 to 144. I am about to put the skid back in and I was wondering if any one had any tips or tricks. I have never done this before but I have watched some videos and did some reading and I see there is more than one way to do it. Such as do I lay the sled on its side or not? They make it look pretty easy on Youtube.

Ratchet strap the rear arm down a few inches. or release the rear springs on the rail sides.

on phazer, un load springs as mrsled 1st. then i grab a tie wrap and tie down the rear scizors to the rail as a good shock will keep it at full extension witch sucks to install.
did you add any wheels around where the rail extensions bolt on to help with slide wear?

I haven't yet but I do plan it. I have seen them installed where the join is on the extension an also on the front ahead of the ones that are already there.

I got the track on yesterday, thank you for the tips as it went on pretty smoothly. I had the whole family help and nobody was swore at. There was not a lot of adjustment for track tension but I think it is close to what the manual says. Today I am going to change the oil and switch out the skis. Then work on the tunnel extension.

I forgot to chime in but laying the phazer on its side makes skid install ridiculously easy. I think it's in the FAQ

Yes I read that somewhere and it did make it very easy. Also seen it in a couple of youtube videos so I figured that was the way to go. My wife and I did it in no time and we were still talking to each other when we were finished.

Going from a 121 to a 144 is a BIG jump. I'm surprised that it didn't stick out further than that in relation to the snowflap.

Yeah not to bad, according to my calculations I need to add 10" to my tunnel.
