Track Noise

???

I took the stock plastic front wheels off my vector and replaced them with the red wheels that are rubber.. Mine is verrrrrrrrrrrry quiet.. At 40 all I hear is the wind noise around my helmet.. MM. ;)!

MM, what red wheels are you referring to? If there are some direct replacements that are rubber, I don't care if they're Artic Cat green! I want some.

I rode a T660 turbo touring Cat and the track on that is 99% quieter than the RS Venture. Whats up with that? The cat has a lot more boogie wheels and they are rubber.

Cat has a new Quiet Track on their sleds, its a design they came up with last year for their 4-strokes. The wheels run on a raised rubber strip so the track will not flex in between the lugs.

Thanks everyone for your replies. No I don't have the track studded and we don't really have a lot of snow to ride in. So my best guess is that the fact that we are riding on marginal snow and the base is mostly ice, that if we had some more snow maybe some of the track noise would disappear. Bet you next year the sled will be more quite.

Yup! Right from yammie..PN#sma-8ek38-01-rd Its the same # except for the rd=red/bl=blue/sl=silver/yl=yellow. $22.95 each.. Well worth it..They fit right on. Hope this helps. MM ;)!

Max, do those new wheels have the rubber on the outside where it runs on the track, because the accessories book says plastic?

Thanks MM, that helps! I'll be getting a pair.

Ok guys.....I'm not seeing what wheels you are talking about?
I have looked at mine, and every one that i can see has rubber on the outside part of the wheel. The only things that seem solid plastic are the clogs.... :?

Could this be because I still have a Proaction Skid?

could be...

Must be it Gnip. The plastic wheels on the Vectors are the two front ones located inside the skid rails. They rolld over the stud heads and are noisey.

Yup....that is it. I went to the Yami site and my set up is totally different. I have the 4 wheels on the outside up front, with 2 inside in the back before the rear wheels......tipical proaction setup. I wonder why they put those plastic ones in there...... :?
