Max, did you also replace the inside wheels or just the two on the outside?

Don't have any inside wheels on the shorty vector. Just replaced those on the front outside. MM

I have the same sled as yours and mine has wheels on the inside just next to the wheels you replaced. My studs run under the inside wheels.

MadMax, Do I understand right, you bought these wheels trying to quiet your track noise down and it did help to quiet it down? thanks

great!
Excellent! Thanks for the info MM.
I was doing my first L.O.F. last night, and see that all 4 forward wheels (outside and inside) are all plastic, not just the two inner wheels. My inner ones are showing some wear from the stud heads. Some rubberized ones sure will be nice...

I bought them for show.. To match the back ones.. But when they came in I noticed they were rubber..They are quieter than plastic.. I still have the plastic ones inside just ahead of the red ones.. I did notice some track noise last weekend when the temp was -16.. It sounded like the inside front wheel on the right side.Over-all it is very quiet going down the trails. MM.

A few years back Yamaha was getting bitched out for .75 & .92 lug tracks and now were complaining about noise with 1.25 tracks. I used to have to take a brand new sled & swap out the track before riding it. I'm just happy Yamaha uses a quality track now. I'm not going to start complanng about the new tracks.
The old bogey wheels used to lose the rubber, now they don't use the rubber style because the studs used to chew up the rubber or they would freeze to the track and peel off. Max Perf had solid aftermarket wheels without rubber, they were all the rage. Now Yamaha tries to please us & still more complaining. My wife doesn't complain as much as some of you.
Don't worry, Gold Wingers are more demanding & more of a pain than us sledders, well they used to be. Hmm...

Touche' Snowman. The old profile tracks definitely left something to be desired. These are much MUCH better. However, the track sure seems like it reverberates alot more after studding. I still think it's the mix of hard plastic wheels and studs, not just deep lugs. I'll go for the rubber lined wheels and take my chances. If it doesn't change anything, I don't mind letting you folks know that I didn't think the swap was worth the time or effort. I am about 98% thrilled to death with this thing, but how many posts of everyone praising it can we suffer through? If we just sat around and posted about how cool these sleds are, it wouldn't be much of a helpful forum.
