Getting ready to break in the new sled this week and wondering what others are seeing for track stretch when new. I put the JT 4th wheel kit on and it's pretty darn tight adjusted all the way out. Hoping they stretch a fair amount after some miles.

You have the adjusters as loose as possible and the track is tight? That does not sound right. There is a lot of adjustment on those adjusting bolts.Getting ready to break in the new sled this week and wondering what others are seeing for track stretch when new. Yeah, I assume it is because of the oversized rear wheels. Are you running the JT 4th wheel kit?

No but there is a lot of adjuster there and I wouldn't think a larger wheel would use it all up. The good news is if your sled is new the track will stretch a good amount. They call for 2" gap at the center with 20 lb down pressure. I would run it a little tighter, maybe 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 gap.Yeah, I assume it is because of the oversized rear wheels. That's about where I am adjusted so I should be fine. Still curious if others with the 4th wheel kit see the same lack of adjustment.

I put the J&T 4 wheel kit on my ltx-dx and it has a new track. I had to drill new holes for the bar as the track was too far forward. When it stretches I will be able to reposition the bar back to original

I also noticed quite a difference in track tension and adjuster placement once I put the stealth 8.5” kit on. My adjusters are almost all the way in, but it did leave a bit of loose track before adjusting. I have 1000 miles on that track.
New track will stretch quite a bit and a couple of times.

Ok... so we are all on the same page then. Surprised nobody mentioned how little adjustment there is after putting the wheel kit on in other posts. I have the wheels right up close to the bar and have enough sag in the track so didn't need to modify anything.

I installed the 4th wheel kit from jt as well. My track is right in the middle of adjustment slots. Stock 8" rear hub with add on wheels. It probably did stretch a little when new and did adjust it twice within the fist 600 miles.

But your nose will stay down the tighter you go..

I think the sled looks tough with oversized wheels, and for sure they will outlast the stock application, but I shall wait until I put some miles on them before I pass judgement. Have not heard many negative remarks from those who had them last year. I think 1 remark about maybe loosing some traction, because the rear sits lower then the slides and may cause it to dig in the very rear! ??? Maybe for ice application huh.
