Thought I'd align my track and then skis tonight. On the jack stand, the left side looked to be about the right tension but the right was noticeably looser, hmmmm, so I thought I'd start by getting the right somewhere close to the left.

Only minor problem was the right adjustment bolt was completely sheered off at about midpoint and what was left was also bent at the end. So we disassmbled the rear axle, and between what was left of the bad adjuster and looking at the good one, it appears as if the bolts are welded to the collars that slip over the axle at an intentional angle - not perpendicular to the plane of the shaft.

The slide suspension schematic doesn't do a good job of showing whether the adjusters when reinstalled should result in the bolts being angled towards the rail or away from the rail. Guess I've got a 50/50 shot at getting it right the first time and maybe it would be apparent if I get it wrong, but anyone know for sure which way they go? Thanks in advance.

I'm really having fun learning to work on sleds, but it sure is frustrating those nights when the "to-do list" gets longer rather than shorter, especially when we're finally getting a hint of snow.

This part is actually available locally and I could get this back together tonight in time for some forcasted and much needed snow tomorrow......anybody.....

They are angled so you can get a socket through the track window for adjustment. The track windows on a Camoplast are narrower than the Yokohamas Yamaha used to use. Yamaha had straight adjuster bolts when equipped with the junk Yokohamas.

Be careful not to over tighten. Those adjusters are cheap and bend very easy. I have replaced mine twice. Now I replaced the the skid with an Artic Cat skid. No more problems.
