I replaced my skid rails a couple weeks ago. I tensioned the track as close to spec as I could guess. The service manual says 1.18-1.38" of deflection with 22lbs of force. Well that is about what I have it set at. However, when I had my track off of the ground and I hit the throttle, the track just seemed way too tight. It may have just been me. I took it for a few spins aroud the yard and it felt OK, but I am not sure.
Is there an easy, fool-proof way to set the track tension?

Loosen it up till you hear it ratchet under a wide open launch then go just a bit tighter.
A wide open launch on the ground correct? How will I know if I'm hearing ratcheting?

You will know.
