OK..just had the skid out and replaced idlers, sliders etc... and all went well until I had to adjust the track? The issue is that when the track is properly centered and adjusted two thing are not right? One is that I am showing almost double the threads on one adjuster and the track is much looser on one side then the other even though the track is equal on both sides? And if I count 10 or so threads on each adjuster the track is way over to the one side? I have been adjusting tracks for 20 plus years but this is my first yamaha so any suggestions???

You might have done this already but Check to see if the axle shaft is bent. some times if you tail land it or land funny it will bend. other than that I would start mesuring stuff from side to side you might find somthing.

Make sure that the track (lugs) is fully and correctly seated and not sitting on top of the driver teeth.

Are you sure you have the rear axle loose when your doing this? Spin the track after you center it. Mine was a PITA the last slider change for some reason too, and my bolts are not equal in thread length when centered and 22lbs of pull for the track droop.
ya the axle is way loose and I am glad to hear your bolts are not equal in length when properly adjusted? Maybe this is somewhat normal on the 144 skid? My buddy has a shorty and the bolts have equal amount of thread showing and that's what made my panic
Are the rails bent.I have had this same thing happen before.Look at where the rails kick up are they the same on both sides?
I always spin the track mutliple times before veryfing anything. I even check again once I have tightened the axle bolt too! But the question is it when my track is centered why it is way tighter under the center of the right rail compare to the center of the left rail but everything is centered??? That is waht is leaving me stumped????

Oh I forgot, I bet you only have 3 wheels back there! I remedied my offset by adding the 4th wheel.

Don't forget you have to tighten the axle before you spin it up and check. Like I mentioned it's a PITA but mandatory. Mine is 4 threads diferance.
