I have an 06 Apex GT and can't get a good holeshot to save my life. I have 168 1.325" Golddiggers in a standard pattern, transfer rod set one line from max., and the limiter strap let all the way out. My previous sled was a Cat and I had the coupler blocks removed and when you burped the gas it would bite in and pick the skis. I had pretty much given up on being able to get this type of hook-up until last weekend we were taking a break on the trail and an ER went by and he nailed the gas and the skis lifted. I know people have been saying you can get these sleds to hook up great but I must be missing something. Should I be looking at different studs/pattern? Is the GT suspension set up differently (other then electronically adjustable) then the ER or RTX? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you should be doing wheelies with that set-up. I geuss i'd keep going to max trans. With mine set up similer to yours, I would have to be carefull not to go over backwards, It would pull the skis over my head! Maybe check your skid to see if anything is broke?

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to max. out the transfer setting tomarrow and see what that does. I'll let you know what luck I have. There is already something under the hood so running down other sleds is not a problem but I would prefer to hook-up from start to finish.

One thing we've noticed is the rider weight has a big effect on weight transfer with the monosock suspension.
Heavy riders see a lot more weight transfer and very light riders often see very little.

I have the same issue. No ski lift, and marginal hook up. I feel like I have a sled that isn't studded sometimes, but I have 144 1.375's as well. Sometimes I kind of like it that way, because when I'm not spinning, it really handles well throught the corners by keeping the skis down. It's a trade-off for sure, but there's so many different settings, and things that affect issues of this nature. Keep playing with it, you'll get there.

1.325" studs just don't cut it... You need 1.450" to get any sort of traction. It's a night and day difference!
Just got back from a ride and adjusted the transfer all the way out and it helped some. Snow was getting pretty soft before I got out so it wasn't the best of conditions.
I do have a new belt. I put on a 01 instead of stock (2mm wider). As far as studs go I didn't realize you could/should go to 1.450" due to clearance issues. If there is sufficient clearance, I would consider going longer.
