Guys, the wife likes my 04 warrior's supenstion too much and wants to dump her 05 vector with 2,500 miles in trade for an 06 apex gt with 3,000 miles. Difference the dealer wants is $2500. On the other hand I wouldnt mind holding out for an 05 rx1 and not give as much cash out. Is the Apex GT that much better of a sled than the 05 rx1? Is the 05 mono shock solid enough for a rider over 200 pounds? Give me your feedback and opinions. Is this a decent deal??

Apex if far better than the vector. If you want a better ride yet, get the Attak. The 05 RX-1 isn't much af a machine. The bushings and shafts will be alll wore out @2500 miles. They didn't come with grease zerks in the susp. I just had one in the shop with 2400 miles. The guy spent $1000 just getting it usable. Look for the Attak.

thanks for the reply... so the mono in the 05 was not that great huh? I am only about 180lbs so I would like to think that the apex shorty would be fine, but that is why I ask you guys for thoughts... thanks again.

I have a GT and love it. If youre pushing the 200# mark, have the shock re-valved and add the heavier spring. I went with the 6.5 spring, but I'm agressive and just a touch heavier than you.

Pull the trigger, you'll love the GT. Or hold out for an Attak as mentioned... I'd skip the RX-1 unless you find a killer deal and super low miles.

thanks for the words guys... I just need to find some cash now!

I've ridden some RX1's and they are not even in the same league as my Apex GT. If you can afford it go with the Apex or Attak.

I liked 2005 RX1 but 2006 Attack the upgrade you are looking for since you have a warrior. I would not buy Apex 121 since 136 sooooo much better match to 150 hook up. 06s a bit soft on the GT mono shock spring if over 190lbs. 07s were stiffer, 08 stiffer but don't know about 09.

Well I have an 03 & 05 rx as well as an 07 Attack GT. The stock 05 RX will run all over the Attack if you set it up properly. It took Simmons skis, Ohlin clickers and 13 mm sway bar. The limiter strap is down on last set of holes and I can ride 500 miles a day no matter what the trails are like.

My 07 has been out 5 imes this yr and has just over 1200 miles on it. I bought it with 400 on it. I installed 13 mm bar and tried both C&A skis and simmons on it. Simmons are definitely better but still can't get a ride that doesn't want to eject me on the rough trails. I have tried all limiter strap settings and have cranked the shock spring out and have the electronic setting at min and it still kicks me much harder than the 05. I had an 06 RTX that was much easier to dial in.

I was so sore on Sunday my girlfriend and I swapped sleds and she made it 1 mile into some rough woopty doos and the back end kick out she rolled it wiping the headlight/dash assembly clean off. Needless to say she won't get back on it.

Little side note from a dead stop 4 times on packed groom trail I left her from the line by 1.5 lengths and the 05 with her on it ran me down and passed me by 80 mph.

05 is completely stock, 07 has gutted exhaust, fuel accelerator, GYT-R-DUN filters, Heel clicker II clutch kit and overdrive sheaves. Both have only studes down the middle. And I only weigh 15 lbs more than her.

Turn up your mono rebound damping clockwise if getting too much kick & harden GT setting in rough. Somthing not set right or you in 3 foot moguls?

Not quite 3'ers but I have been through all of it and its not rebound its bound that is the prob. I think they were too soft on the 06's and re-valved for the 07 the rear rides like a brick. I have a penske shock from my 03 Bender conversion I am putting it in this weekend. we'll see what that feels like it was awesome in the 121" sled and has a lot more adjustment (40 clicks).
