Could you go back to a 2 stroke?

I can now add NO!!!
After starting one up last night. I could smell it all night long at the bar

maybe you should have killed the motor or took the sled out of the bar!

ya your right I would add a no to the question also!

With kids in the picture I am sure you can find other areas for that money to go.

I thought sledding was a bottomless pit...nope, it is the kids....j/k, I would not trade it for anything in the world.

Now seeing my oldest daughter get excited to see the new Snowtech or Supertrax in the mail is great. I just reeling with what to do when my 3 girls get old enough to ride their own sleds. I see a 5 or 6 place trailer in my future.,,yikes.

2002viper - your in for a heck of a treat!!! I lvoed my viper but has good as it handled my RX1 is sooo much better for my style. The nytro is going to blow your mind, going from 120hp two stroke to this fuel injected, loads of suspension, nimble beast. Have fun!!

I'd like to think that I am very happy where I am now, but I never say never anymore.

5 years ago I believed that 4 strokes would never work in a sled and I wouldn't own one if they were giving them away, and look how wrong I was on that one!

So while I am enjoying the hell out of what I have now, I would like to think that I have learned enough in life to know that one should always try to keep an open mind.....

Not a Chance, and as soon as I get a whiff of my buddies 2 Strokes, I'm so darn glad they didn't do that in my shop. Bad enough I have to follow them. Sometimes.

absolutely.
Never say never.
Said I would never go 4 and now I'm on an RTX. As is well known the RTX suffers from horrible handling (stock) mainly due to the back end and the weight of the machine. My brothers 07 Blizzard (600 SDI) handles better, rides better and gets better mileage while using very little oil.
Before you jump all over me and tell me to give the RTX away and move over to Doo Talk be advised that I have not given up on the RTX. I'm working on the back suspensions, bottoming, hyfax wearing, idler ripping, snow collecting and unstabilizing the front end issues and if I get it sorted out all i have to do is change the skis and she is a keeper. Love the motor and can live with the weight if she handles but.......At this point I'd be on a 2 stroke again if they could make the motors more durable. Seems like as soon as they go over 600ccs they lose the reliability. Bros 600 SDI is an ideal sled except I want more power.

Motor-wise this RTX is the best I've ever had so i guess I prefer 4 stroke but the whole sled has to perform not just the motor. Otherwise I'd have bought an 07 or 08 Doo 800 and dealt with the inevitable engine issues to get the handling, ride and economy.
Perhaps the new Nitro FX is the answer but sheesh I'm not a bottomless pit of money and I just kicked out for a top of the line 4 stroke. Thought I did my research but its only now i'm finding out the ugly truth about the RTX rear end.

I don't miss coming home smelling like a 2 smoke and I dont miss having to carry oil with me (lots of my riding is long distance)

The RS Venture GT is my first sled, so I can't return to a place I've never been. I think what sold me on 4-stroke is the fact that I'm a car guy and could relate to 4-stroke design and operation more easily than a 2-stroke. Reed valves? Two-cycle oil? Thank you, no.
