WD40 for permit residue..let it soak abit. Takes 2-3 applications and doesn't hurt the windshield.
Good work on the holder btw..

Maybe we should put the sticker on the snowflap. They will able to see it good from there.

So today I was peeling off my old permit from the side of my windshield....see my avatar to the left. I had just finished peeling off Harmony's old one too. This is getting pretty ridiculous, they are brutal to get off!!
So upon stairing at my sled and about 3 or 4 beersinto the afternoon, I realized I could make a 'plate' holder to stick my permit to!! No more sticking a god awful ugly sticker to my $15000 (cdn!!) sled!!
Here are some pics!!![]()
I was telling my buddy last week I was thinking of putting mine where you have yours after someone on here showed a pic of a plate mounted different on his Apex. I haven't thought about it since, but now with your pics, I have something to go by...thanks!

Mine is mounted to a "Sticker Guard" on the top of the air box just below the windshield. Nuts to a new decal every time a windshield is replaced.

Count me in on this plate idea..Looks great..I was thinking of getting a mid height windsheild for the long/ cold trips and keeping the lil chrome jobby for here and there..Now I can do it without the sticker hassel..So if you had 6 beers would you put some wings on the sled..Be interested in that idea..

Man, no snow on the ground and we can invent all kinds of goodies for the sleds. Nice Job!!!

Guys.. hate to tell you .. you cannot ride in Ontario with a plate that is seperable from your sled .. riveted or not.. It must be placed on your windshield or your cowling in specific spots. When I took the Trail Warden course a few weeks ago in Bracebridge they warned us of this and to sell you another pass....It is to stop people interchanging plates between sleds. With the weather this year and lack of riding, I think you'd have to have pretty big balls to tell someone who has a legitimate pass that "it is mounted incorrectly and he is required to buy a new one". If this weather keeps up OFSC might start thinking what they can do to entice people to buy early for next year rather than hassle people who have already bought. Just a thought and my 2 cents. I know you're just the messenger, nothing personal.

looks good...how is it mounted?..are those rivets?.
I have ALWAYS for about 20 yrs now stuckmy permit onto a BLACK peice of Vinyl(graphic stock)....then stuck the vinyl onto sled, which is removed pretty easily with hairdryer and no hurting the paint ect...
I stuck mine behind windshield, just under speedo on shroud facing forward( i think you saw mine last year on my lake)...when we saw cops he was fine with it....
but i do like your idea!
