I am looking at an exclosed trailer for sleds/quads. I have a '09 Venture (144) and will probably have another long track sled in there pretty often as well. In the Summer, I will prob trailer a couple of quads (short and long Outties).

I am looking at a 14'x7' Trailer with a 5' V-Nose
The V-Nose will have a ramp door in it in addition to the rear ramp. The trailer will have a man door, tandem axles, brakes on all four wheels, a 24" stone gaurd in front, spare wheel and tire and a fuel door.

My questions are:

-Will these be big enough for two sleds and still have room for maybe a sleigh and/or a clam fishing shelter?
-Are LED Lights worth the extra $100 or so?
-Would you put load lights on the back (are they worth another $100)?
-Is it better to go with Sping or Torflex axles and why?
-Are there any other options I should consider?
-Is this the best type of trailer for my application?

Any help or additional advice from you folks who might be more experienced in this type of equipment selection that me would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to the snow!

I have a 27' Legend with 2 longs tracks in it and its perfect. I would not want to cram sleds in those inlines. My buddy has a 29' trailer he puts 4 sleds in and you couldnt get to second or third sled if you wanted too. IMO get a bigger trailer.

i wouldn't go led for tail lights just for the fact that the snow builds up on them and won't melt off like incandecent bulbs do, leds are great for draw and brightness i found out almost the hard way one night in a snowstorm i almost drove into the back of trailer at 3 am due to snow buildup on led lights

stay with non led tail lamps for what spddmon said, but the rest of the trailer could be led for less amperage draw from the tow vehicle. i would reccomend torflex for the suspension as it usually last 10-15 years before you need to replace the alxe if you do not burn a bearing. a spring one will just let go with no warning and can ruin a weekend/trip especially if you do not carry a spare spring and parts to replace it yourself on the road side (not fun). the load lights are nice when you are packing the stuff into the trailer or working on a sled in there but you can use an inverter/powerpack with a couple of strings of led christmas lights mounted to the roof to achive the same result. if going in-line trailer, i would reccomend going long enough to fit 2 162" mountain sleds as everything else will fit in there easily and with shotrter sleds, it will be easyer to add a 3rd/4th sled when nessasary.

i do not regret getting the enclosed trailer as it keeps your sleds cleaner when trailering and also provides a storage space for them when you are not using them. look on it as a portable shed that can hold all your sledding stuff so that when it is time to go, all of it is in there already.

Thanks for the feedback guys. They are all great ideas. I will probably take a look at the bigger rigs and see if the supplier that I am looking at buying from will swap out the LED lights (They are standard). If anyone else has any advice to contribute, I can assure you that it will not fall on deaf ears.

On another note, I am from the Big Nickel as well Maim and it doesn't seem like anyone here selling trailers really cares if they sell them or not. I am looking at buying from Streamline out of Hammertown. They seem to be quality built and I can get a rig with Torflex axles for 600 less than what anyone here will offer.

Still looking at trailers my self.
I see alot of enclosed trailers now coming with spring axles, and I can see why their prices are pretty tempting.
Thinking I'am gonna go wth R&R seems like the most trailer for reasonable price.

sounds like a good deal.

if mine wasn't at my brothers, i would let you take a look at it. bought mine used from a guy who deals where i work. right now it has 4 sleds in it. 05 rxwar, 05 sx venture, 02 viper modded to 136" and a 1992 phazer II. only that way for storage atm as the skis had to come off the war and the phazer for them all to fit.

here is a pic of mine. truck and trailer together are almost 40' long without measuring.

WOW....beautiful trailers guys. I'm looking for just a two place enclosed trailer this year and curious if anyone knows where I could get one??

I was going to see what's available @ the snowmobile auction at White Star Auctions this year but wanted to ask you guys first if theirs some other place you know about that I don't...?

This looks to be the nicest 2 place trailer, I think, and I'am still considering it.

Around $3500. I just cant decide between that or the in line.

I really want the in line for extra room but with the money I save with the 11 ARC I could get another sled.
Just wish I knew how that 11 ARC towed, it looks a little high. Anybody have one?

Also, R&R now has a factory outlet in Wisconsin located in Lake Mills. 1-877-648-2266

Check the Autotrader for Indiana. Northern Indiana is littered with trailer builders. Often times you can get great deals (I have in the past on MTI trailers) in that area because they aren't "brand names". They still build great products and you can select the features you want. A couple things I will mention that others may not have- make sure you get bright reverse lights on the trailer (it'll save you from backing over neighbors mailboxes late at night :o| ) and buy aluminum if at all possible. I have a 29ft MTI v-nose carhauler that I haul 4 sleds in and although it is a well-built trailer, I should have spent the extra money and gotten an aluminum one. The salt in the winter time tears them up pretty good.

Those are really nice trailers on that website, but I don't want a brand new one this year.

That's a great idea about autotrader northerndoc. Honestly didn't even think about it.
I'm deffinitly going to get aluminum. Tired of hauling around my 1200 lb trailer. Like you saide, extremely tough but excessive for what I want to do.

That's my exact trailer. I just bought it this past April. I got a spring deal for 3199.00 + 75.00 bucks to install all LED Lights. I can't wait to try it with the sleds this season. It works great for 2 ATV's.

Hve the same traile only 12 ft. Little hard on fuel puhin wind compared to tiltable 2 up trailers, but nice for loading, no mess no fuss clamp skies down and go. My buddies still outting his cover on his open trailer and Im in truck already getting warm
