So wkeggenhoff, you have a 12' trailer (plus a five foot V) and you have no trouble getting your two sleds in there? That is why I was thinking the 14+5'V, but after reading some of the comments on here, I think I may opt for the 16 which would bring my total length to 21". I don't think I will even need room for 4 sleds or even 3 - 'If you want to bring your sled, you'd better bring your own trailer' type of thing.

Maim has a great trailer, but I just am not sure I want the extra length for the very few times I might need it vs. the hassle of havng such a long trailer.

I also don't know how the V-Nosed inlines would be any worse for drag then the tiltable ones. In fact, I thought it would be the oppisite.

On another note, what are you guys doing for cabinets in your trailers? The co. I am looking to buy from wants $600 to put in a 4 helmet cabinet. For that price, I figured I could build my own or buy something else and install it. The latter options seems to be easier, but more difficult to find a supplier.

K I have a 19' V nose. 19' to the tip of the nose. I have a 121" and a 136 in it. I have no room left over. I run the shorty all the way to the front and then throw the rear over to the wall. The 136 RX then runs in with the front end to the opposite side of the trailer. Just enough room to close the door.

I have tried to put the shorty in backwards but then the RX must be backed into the trailer. All I wanted was to haul two sleds and I can. I also wanted the wheels outside the trailer so the trailer is lower to the road. Easier when Loading/hauling furniture ect. When I first looked at my trailer I thought I could maybe get three sleds in it. Later I found two was a snug fit and still be able to tie it all secure.

My advice is go bigger then you think you need to be able to get in what you want.

thanks crazy canuk. 2 136" sled fit really nice in there. to get 4 in, they have to be stacked just so. mine is an inline v-nose. it pulls just as easy as a square single axle contractors trailer i have. the square box ones pull much heavyer even when they are loaded lighter. only had the et410 and sleigh in it vs venture, viper and sleigh in the big one. was the same highway too.

alum. trl for shure and buy good locks , the shield looks like a good one ,not fancy but covers well . spare tire mount , and sliders for the floor , low power loading lights mounted inside the trailer , to keep clean and have no problems , mount high and about half way down the side of the trailer. torq flex ales with real easy lube hubs.. hope it helps

Just a thought as far as length...I have a 6x12 enclosed I haul one sled in, I also have a 21 foot (16' square, 5' Vnose) which I haul 3 sleds in. It does not matter which one I pull, or how many sleds in it, the gas milage is the same as long as its hooked to the truck.
As a side note, the 21 foot inline is quite tight for 3, I wish I had got the 23 foor. (by the way, its 7 wide)

Another trailer to look at for a good price is the Thunder series by Ledgend. I bought a 27 inline in Feb. Love the trailer. All aluminum trailer. I paid 5700 for mine. I beleive the 17 foot trailer is around the high threes or low fours.

You will not be disappointed.......

I am also thinking of updating my trailer. Right now I have a 20' enclosed, straight front car trailer that I use for a '55 Chevy in the summer and sleds in the winter. Loading the sleds if fine, but unloading is the problem. I have seen on the internet before a 22' enclosed v-nose with a ramp door in the nose to unload sleds. Does anybody have any experiece with these? I need a heavier trailer for the car, so I need the 5000# axles. I would prefer an aluminum construction. Any suggestions would help.

Pulled the Trigger

So after doing quite a bit of research, I have pulled the trigger on a new enclosed inline trailer. I ordered a 23' (4 feet more than I was originally looking at thanks to the advice I received here), drive on, drive off. I added tie downs, helmet locker, fuel doors, torsion axles, and all wheel electric brakes. Should be in by the end of next month.

I ended up going with an Atlas Trailer. They are manufactured in Indiana.
