So in November I bought a 2006 apex RTX and for a few reason I had to pull the suspension out on my sled and once I got it out I noticed that the tension rod was missing so I had done some research as to why it would be out and figured that I needed one so I bought a used one and after going through the suspension while it was out I tried to out the tension rod in and it just doesn't seem like it will work? Not sure why it's like this? If anyone has any info or can point me in the right direction that would be great!!!!
Thanks
Thanks

What do you mean when you say it doesn't seem like it will work? Are you saying the one you bought may not be functioning properly? Or are you just wondering how they function?

No there is two wheels in the middle and it won't let it line up to the bolt holes.

I'm just wondering if those 2 wheels inside there are suppose to be there.

On mine, 136", the rear wheels are mounted to the rails with no cross shaft in between so the transfer rod is not blocked. Looks like yours was modified. You can look at the parts diagrams at portyamaha.com to see exactly how yours should look.

I just looked at the parts fiche. Yours should have mounts that allow the wheels to attach to the rails. No cross shaft in between. You can probably buy the hardware from barnofparts. You'll want to use the transfer rod.

Remove the spring or compress the spring and then you can line up the rod to the bracket. No there is two wheels in the middle and it won't let it line up to the bolt holes.

Is it the transfer rod that clunks whenever I go over lots of stutter bumps? If so, how can I fix it.
Thanks, Kevin.
Thanks, Kevin.

Yes. The transfer rod clunks over the bumps. No fix
