JP, screw the naysayers. Your head, your choice.
I do not wear a helmet when I am hunting by snowmobile; people who have only ridden groomed trails at Mach 3 probably wouldn't understand that either.

i hear ya. i take my full face when we are ripping the sleds around. mostly we are putting along breaking trail in the backcountry. making the sled highway. back and forth along the same road, riding tandem or towing. on the big sled days or when we sled in a long distance quickly we take the helmets. its a calculated risk like everything in the backcountry.

sometimes this site can be like being married. You get all excited about something cool and she kills your buzz by nagging you about what you forgot or what you didn't do.

May be your choice but to do it is a bad one.

I can see some very small amount of people dying because of seat belts. Not being able to get out even though they may only be alive because the seat belt held them in place during the initial impact. I cant for the like of me figure an instance where a helmet would cause someone's death though please expand on one of these death by helmet scenario's. I would like to know how this could happen. On the other side though there are countless cases of people dying because one was not worn. I know on my bike I would wear one even though it was not required.
nice pics, you use an avalanche beacon and a safety lung but wont wear a helmet. your choice though,

JP, I think we all value your input on the Phazer, you are a great addition to this site, and I personally enjoy reading your write ups and eye your mountain pic's jealously.
Yes, were a bunch of net nannies, but were just lookin out for ya bud! Try not take it personal Hate to see a fellow rider get hurt, but you sound like you know what your doing.

The pictures are very cool so please don't stop posting them. Just don't answer people who criticize how your are riding. No matter what we do there is always someone who will find fault with it or tell us how we should live, most have good intentions. nuff said, Again GREAT pictures.

This is dead-on man...I had no idea so many on this site actually turned out to be women. Hard to tell from just screen names I guess...
I like to preach safety on occasion myself (heck, just read my signature). But I strongly feel that hijacking the thread of a guy who's just trying to share some really cool pics is an EXTREMELY rude way to do it.
These pics are absolutely awesome. I LOVE powder riding like that, and do it as often as I can, but trying to get a good pic of that type of action can be very challenging. YOU have succeeded in capturing it VERY well. I'm curious how many pics did you actually have to take to get these good ones plucked out? Nice job...my hat's off to you (pun intended). Keep 'em coming!

Love the pics and the info you have provided!
You are obviously not having issues with the sled as I have read in so many other posts (Icing etc.).
