Hey everyone,

I have a 2009 MP. I bought the trunk that is listed as an official accessory on Yamahamotor.ca
The trunk does not sit naturally in the rack. My friend has a VK Pro and it's a perfect fit. I know the trunk was actually made for the VK PRO but I have to say, I'm disappointed with how it matches the MP

Anyone out there have it on their sled? If so, how did you get it on there?

Thanks everyone.

Found this awhile ago while searching for a part for the vk:

REAR TRUNK
Durable rotationally moulded black poulethylene with foam injected lid. Extra large capacity
with water tight design. Stainless steel latches and hardware ensure extra long life. Trunk can
be hard mounted to snowmobile or bungeed for easy removal. Ergonomically design allows for
easy handling or carrying. To mount on Venture Lite and Venture Multi-Purpose rubber feet
are required to elevate the rear trunk SMA-8FN63-RB-FT.
06~09 VK Professional, 07~09 Venture Lite, 07~09 Venture Multi-Purpose

I have a 2013 MP with this trunk

SMA-8FN63-02-TR

Part number from yamaha-motor.ca

It was installed by the dealer, I have since removed it. Came out easily and I can slide it in and out of the rear rack (with the passenger seat installed) easily too. I don't have any rubber feet under the trunk, the dealer fastened the trunk to the rack framing with U-bolts and nuts with plastic grips around them. No tools required to put it in or take it out. Hope this helps????

Thanks all. I'm heading to my dealer tomorrow to find out what's best. May pick up the rubber feet. May I ask why you took off the trunk after you had it installed?

I basically wanted the versatility of having a "quick removal" trunk so I could carry bulkier items in the carrier rack when required (ice auger etc.). I can swap the trunk in or out in a minute or two without tools.

Thanks for the reply daboog. Would love to see your set-up. Perhaps a you tube hit with you taking it off and on. Love tutorials.

BTW I was once called Vjnorth on this forum but I had to start over again with a new name because of password reset difficulties. Couple of videos I posted.

I used to use one of these:

It goes in the place of the passenger seat. I tried it since I didn't originally have a rear seat. Pretty big space but it's hard as heck for the passenger and sits too high. I still have it if you're interested.

I also made my own using a motorcycle trunk and VL seat. Worked out pretty good and still using it. Cheaper than the $1200 that Yamaha wanted for the whole rear seat setup.

I may be interested. I love storage and am planning a big trip up the coast of Labrador this winter. Could be good if both can sit along side one another.

My only concern would be that if I remove my rear seat and one of my buddies on the trip breaks down, they'll be sitting on hard plastic.

What would you be asking?
