what do you guys think about going up for the weekend?

Almost 2 feet of snow just melted and along with the recent rain its still wet there.
Temps cold at night and around freezing during the day but need colder to firm the ground.Waterholes need to drain off.
I was at Snowridge ski hill in Turin Sunday and it was above freezing.
Groomers can't groom yet.No snow.When they do they have to pan again and pack the trail as they had to do weeks ago to start the season when the heavy snow fell.
If fresh snow comes thurs night and friday/sat and the sledders from allover coming to the hill it will just ruin the trails since the groomers have not been been out or and won't have time to get the trails setup good again.
I've passed a groomer coming at me that left the trail great only to go a few miles and pass 5 sleds that tore it up making it look ungroomed again.
Clubs had to clear trails of trees and limbs from the high winds last week.
Winds around 85mph.

Hows it looking for this Sunday? I hear tugs getting a significant amount of snow Fri/Sat. Its freezing down here in Auburn, NY... high of 14 Sunday!

couple of buddies went up.and said the trails were ok- not alot of base but ok, They said its snowing like crazy though.

Went up Sunday...can't believe I'm still alive!!!! I didn't know there was going to be a BLIZZARD up there. Car, tractor trailers, and more all over the roads and in ditches. 81 was closed...but didn't know that until we got up there. We were right smack dab in the middle of it.
Well anyway the SNOW GODs were def. there and Tugs got some major snow now! Next weekends going to be a blast : )

Been watching the radar - seems they have been getting snowed on all day today - need to check absolutesnowmobile.com tomorrow morning and see for sure - webcams in Old Forge looke like 6" or better today

They have lots of snow...especially to the south by Osceola, Redfield, and Highmarket areas. I was up there Sun-Weds and there was lake effect snow just about every day. They should have it all groomed up nice by now.
We stayed by the Montague Inn and by the time we got back from the ride on Weds, there was about a foot of fresh snow on the truck when I got back.
Should be some good riding up there, as long as you beat the weekend rush.

Put 150 mls on yestrday 1-24-08 trails were good in areas stated in above post lots of traffic,got rougher later in the day. groomers are running.snow is quite loose in corners.ride safe

Heading up tomorrow through thur. Hope the rain holds out and dumps snow instead. Anybody up?
Made the trip to the hill again 1-31 Thurs. 6 of us ,170 mls had a great ride. trails were typical as its the only place around with snow. seemed to be a lot of riders.Did find sone trails that were excellent others were junk but thats why I got this nytro rtx. Raing this morning and freezing on. We'll see what next week brings
