Tunnel Protectors

Ok,so this sounds very easy than Tom,all we need to do is buy 3 protectors and just slide than in,what holds them once they are there?

I think you just tap over the end of the receiver so they dont slide out the back.. the fronts are ended if you look at the pic.

Ya that makes sense Tom,can we get these protectors from Yamaha website, wonder how pricy they are?

I am not sure at this point. So many unknowns.
Ya,time will let us know. Just unsure what I need 192 or 144 I am not sure if 144 will hook up this beast, and how well they will last if they do hook it up,may be to much stress on just 144.

I have 144ish type pattern up the middle of my current 235 HP Viper with 5500 miles on it.. it hooks up pretty good but I dont pound it when the snow is marginal.

Are they all up the middle or on outside as well? Will you be doing the same on your new one? (I believe you're going with LTX-LE? )

All up the middle. I am not sure on the new one, I might just change the track to a ripper.
Tom,this was what my original thought was,to run all double backers up the middle but keep them as close to the sliders for the best pressure as possible. When ever I have studded an ape, they were all up the middle on all double plates, never a single problem with anything,i like things as problem free as possible,i am now thinking 144 all doubles inside.

Thanks for the info. I am definitely doing studs and have no experience with any prestudded tracks. Let us know what you end up going with and how it works.

Double backers are the way to go up the middle.. I usually will do the same thing.

It's mid September now, does anyone know part number for sw tunnel protector? Can't find them in Yamaha search. Ltx-dx. Thanks.

Looks like you may have to either wait a while longer or check with your dealer about the tunnel protectors. I picked up the 2017 Accessories Catalog from Yamaha yesterday at Hay Days and was surprised at the lack of SideWinder accessories shown so far. There's a whole 2 pages of SW accessories compared to 8 pages of Viper stuff in the catalog.

Neither the SW or Viper pages showed any tunnel protectors. It looks to me that the SW accessories are a little slow so far in showing up, but I'm sure that there's more coming in the pipeline than what's in the catalog so far.

I seen them for the new Thundercat are available through some Cat stores. I would think they are the same.

Thanks guys, in October we have the sled and atv show in Toronto. Maybe by then I can get some information on them. No cat dealers near me.

They're there
If this is a Sidewinder than why is the Thundercat show needing only two
