Ya, I noticed that sharp bend too, but I'm sure it's better than the suitcase muffler.

Oh definitely, we cut one of the quiet ones apart a couple years ago. Great for keeping sound down, horrible for everything else.

I'm coming a little late to this turbo game, especially now with the SW , but I like my viper, was almost happy with all my NA mods (intake, can, header, clutch kit, Evo stage 4 flash), so this should be a huge step up, the price was right too, just trying to get the most with spending the least, I'll get a SW eventually but will keep the viper, so this turbo should hold me over for a while.
My 15 with all stock motor has stage I mpi with race can. Eco flash stage 4 I think , 4th injector with separate gems , upgraded fuel pump,
About 225 HP at 7.5 #'s on pump gas and 265 @ 10#'s on race/pump mix. AFR is healthy at 10.2 wot but did pop head gasket at 7,5#'s and had to add arp head studs

Could be wrong but I doubt the OP is going to care about a race fuel setup. Head studs are a great thing to do on any turbo really. So realistically he could save the $500 on the ecu flash and get the head shim, granted there's a lot of time involved in the head shim but ya ga got all summer. And then from there he can have 240-250 hp on pump gas and an engine that's setup for that kinda power...cuz as many already know you're treading on thin water trying to push a stock engine.

When you did the head studs, did you do the head shim also, and is the shim doable with the motor in the sled.My 15 with all stock motor has stage I mpi with race can. Eco flash stage 4 I think , 4th injector with separate gems , upgraded fuel pump,

Shim is doable with the motor in the sled . No I did not because you lose HP by lowering compression and I already did the evo flash to pull timing . My 15 at 7.5#'s makes 10 more HP than the 14 @ 9#'s with lowered compression and is way more snappier throttle response.

Should be mentioned that your 15 has the upgraded billet turbo wheel correct? Is so you're getting increased hp and efficiency from that..another good option for $750 if I remember correctly. My biggest issue would be that you're at your pump gas limit at 7-8 psi. I've talked to several guys that have ran the head shim setups for a couple years now at 13 psi on pump gas. So figure 260 hp vs 225 hp. If you figured cost the head shim is a lot cheaper as long as you have the time and patience to install it.
That may be some of it but the biggest is the stock compression vs head shim or low compression pistons. 7#'s is 7#'s and the wheel may spool faster but hp is a result of the compression vs boost and fuel

If I can get 190-200 on 6-6.5 psi and have reliability, I'm fine with that, I know when to stop, my 2002 Ford super duty with 5.4 gasser with a Ford lightning supercharger on 14 psi with water meth and a shot of nos on the intercooler at 520 rear wheel HP is as reliable as can be with 240k on the clock, and it'll still surprise most of these newer hopped up diesels at the lights.

So when it's all said and done you can get an evo flash for $500, then the billet wheel upgrade for $750, put in your head studs and run it at 7-8 pounds, 220-225 hp. Or while you got everything apart doing the head studs you could take a few more hours and put in the $120 shim, ditch the gems controller and buy a pc5 which can be tuned to be very responsive and at the end of the day you'll have $900 that you didn't have to spend plus an extra 20+ hp. Yamadog ive read all your posts, your 2015 sounds like a great running machine which it should be but the extra money that it took to get it to the point it is could've been used towards putting together a safer and higher hp setup. My viper with head shim and pc5 spools instant, it feels like an n/a sled with 3 times the power so throttle response is out the window..but I've also spent the time to try different clutch setups and combinations to find out what my sled likes and what makes it responsive like it is.

What's the difference between upgraded injectors or the 4th injector.

Two ways of getting more fuel..swap out stock injectors for bigger ones and get a pc5 for tuning or the evo flash or mpi has a 4th injector kit that adds an injector into the innercooler and requires an additional gems controller to run it.
