Just got back from a little trip to northern WI. I didnt put alot of miles on about 180. Ran the pb-80 for the entire time. It worked great. Ran it with a 43/33 dalton black/orange wrapped at 6/1. In front ran 500/1300 with 106 grams of weight. With this helix it wasn't quite as snappy as the 41/35 I used on sunday but the shift was really good. Slight overrev to about 8900 dropped to 8700 and climbed to 88-8850. Ran really strong. Primary wasn't to bad for heat and secondary was cool. I have to say this is the best setup to run. More throttle response better backshift and much quieter. I was running the stock belt and there was no belt dust. I can't say for sure it is faster then my yammie primary setups but seat of the pants tells me it probaly is. For anyone running a stock tune I would highly recommend the pb-80. I can't say for sure how the pb-80 will hold up but there isn't alot of moving parts compared to stock primary. Very happy so far with the pb-80.. I don't know how it would work with a tuned winder but it does work for a stock one so far. Thanks

Great review. Will be nice to see how it holds up over some miles.

Any chance you could post a short vid/clip of it idling with side panel off? Would love to hear it. I ran one on my 1200 and loved the simple design, I would think it should be quiet since it has no arms/levers/weights/rollers....nothing. Sure would solve roller issues.lol

I have a buddy in NY running the dual spring setup on the two Winders with the 290R tunes, maybe he'll chime in. He loves it, deep snow or hardpack, he says RPM stays consistent.

I put mine on a few weeks ago, but without the dual spring setup for the big tunes, I was forced to go back to Yamaha primary. I have no doubt it will be fine on the big tunes with the dual spring setup. Their running fine on over 300 HP on the 1200 Motec Doos. My dual springs just showed up last week and I'll need to do some machining to fit them for more testing on it next season. I will say there is no clutch noise with the PB80 which is a huge plus!!! At idle you can hear the splines with a bit of noise, but after going just over idle the noise just quiets right up, unlike the rattling with the Yamaha primary.

Mike that is correct at idle you can hear a bit of noise but as soon as the r's go up it is quiet.
