Food for thought...Hurley/Mercer area would be about as far as going to Munising for the southern folks.

That sounds Great! It will all depend on how many decide to go and how many your place will hold. It would be nice to keep the group together and if there is not a big interest we would definitely be interested!peterdb said:hey mark...well, i was thinking about a ride in the hurley/mercer area for that feb 24-27 weekend. we could fill up my place with dudes and meet up with mercer guys or whatever. just a thought.
I know that 1 year we did a Mercer get together with a decent turnout of about 10 people and the next year we only had 3 show up.

well, as you said, 10 people one year and 3 the next. that will be tough, you never know who will decide to go, then who will cancel. i think we just need to set a date and place and see who shows up. if the place happens to be the hurley area, we can fill up my place first, and the 'overflow' will have to find accomodations nearby. (i really don't think there will be much overflow) a few people maybe???
we got 5 bedrooms -
3 bedrooms have double beds.
1 bedroom has 1 single bed.
1 bedroom has 2 single beds.
plus floor space and 1 air matress.
we got 53 acres....i'd say a solid 35 of them we can freely 'play in'.
trail 17 runs right through the property.
plowed out parking area that will hold easily 4 vehicles and trailers (probably 5 if we squeeze'm in).
you'll see an awesome barn (over 100 yrs old) milk house, and farm house listed in wisconsins historical society - the Annala Barn http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/hp/barns/
my brother didn't even realize when he bought the place 6 yrs ago that it was historic.
this place is really unique and cool and isolated off the beaten path.

Wow that place looks Awesome Where is it located? would you be interested in winter rentals? I rented the Roadhouse in Pence last year for $3K and was supposed to have 10 guys go in on it at $300 per for the year - guess what - everyone that said yes bailed except 2. I funded the whole thing - guess you find out who your friends are.
Now I just need a place to crash & new friends. I am a 300 mile a day-er usually riding to Copper Harbor or east depending on the snow. I spend 0 time at the lodging unless I break down then I have 24' hauler with shop, Generator and heat inside.

thanks guys,
yamadog. it is considered Oma, WI - it is just a couple miles south east of hurley off 51.
my brother and i have been remodeling since he bought it 6 yrs ago. each year we get one room done. the whole upstairs (4 bedrooms, upper hall, and a bath) are finished, completely gutted, brand new. we just started the first room downstairs.
keep an eye on the 'Ride Thread' because i go up at least 3 times per year and i will always 'post' it on here to see if anyone wants to join me.
btw, i have ridden to copper harbor from here. i rode there at a decent clip but with scenic stops, lunch, rests, etc and did it in about 8 hours. we spent the night then i came home full on balls out and made back in 4 1/2 hours.
renting the place is a possibility but i would need to meet you first. my brother really doesn't like to rent it out to complete strangers.
cheers!

I'll meet you some day I'm sure. I spend almost the entire winter in da YOOPER or at the gateway depending on snow. Just about every day I run into another fellow TY Guy.

North Pole, spent many a late night there. Last year a buddy clipped a shrub about a mile from there laid his polaris on its side at less than 30mph and snapped both bones off just below the elbow. I dropped him off there till I rode back to the truck to take him to the Hospital.
