The weather guessers keep squawking about this polar vortex that is coming next week.
Hoping they are right!

Well.......you know what they say about forecasters.
Only job in America where you can be right half of the time and still keep your job.

Looks like the UP is finally getting the white gold and lot of it! I got three weeks before I'm there so I hope it just keeps dumping.

Last I saw Twins Lakes got 18.5" and that was last night. The forecast shows snow everyday on the extended 15 day. Really like what I'm seeing. Should be nice and deep for my trip in 3 weeks.

I have done a few new years sled trips up there over the years. We would ride hard all day on December 31st. Then we'd be exhausted and go to bed early. Up early on January 1st and we'd have the trails to ourselves for a good solid 6+ hours!I cant wait for my new years trip. should be sick!

I always go up there for new years and that same thing happens to us. We give it our all to stay up but always end up passing out early. The next day is pretty slow for traffic which is great. Pretty pump for my trip in a few weeks. Hope the snow doesn't stop until I get there.I have done a few new years sled trips up there over the years. We would ride hard all day on December 31st. I've been up here since Sunday night. Bridge in Houghton still closed until the 16th. I hear you will then be able to cross the bridge but it may be a few days before they put the mats down. No grooming from Houghton to toivola , heard groomer is broken. Toivola to greenland good fast trails. They had alot of rain right before they got snow. They need alot of cold weather yet. Freda loop and trail 13 both to much water cannot pass thru. The last 3nights we have stayed I would say we got a good 6in of snow. That's what's on my truck anyway.

I'm not doubting johndee but this has been his forecast for the last 3 weeks so just by judging from what he is saying the UP should have at least 3-4ft of snow on the ground by now. Not the case!
