Ulmers Venom Air Box Kit

Thanks, the instructions I received did not say to remove snorkel but I will double check with Elmer. I may be able to shave off some of the edge and on the retainer and get it to fit.

The bottom stays open (stock), you just remove the snorkel.

The bulk of your air is going to be coming in cold from the side (path of least resistance).

On page 2 of the post is where I found out to remove the snorkel.

Thanks, that solves one of my problems.
is getting the screws started the other issue. Its a real fight to try to get the 2 flanges in line to where the bolts will start. I had a couple sets of c- grips and id say 3 of mine i just couldnt get threaded perfect and cross threaded and just had to ram them home. It didnt seem possible to not have a few strip on me.

Agree, I had to force two of the screws as alignment was off slightly. Mine is a touch low an interferes with a spot inside the box. Die grinder will solve that.

I'm getting close now.

Ulmer also confirmed via email the original snorkel gets removed with his kit. Thanks guys.

4 pages but so far nobody has said if it even works. Hmmmmmm...

Bringing this back from the dead, any real world feedback? I just found a new Venom kit and am debating on picking it up.

I did the air box and TP clutch kit and a can all at the same time. Together I feel the sled was more responsive and happy with performance.

The airbox mod is a bit noisy, when you open the flipper I can really hear it suck in the air. That large open makes a difference.

Do you have the K&Ns or the venom kit ( large intake on side of stock airbox)?
